  2. Thanks for looking. With as many Hasegawa kits out there in 1/72, it seems like there would be a vac for it, but if there is, I haven't located it.
  3. Another very nice big jet. I find it interesting You are adding the wings at a later stage. Understandable, but interesting still.
  4. Very nice project. That is quite a few changes from the available model kits. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for You.

  6. Thanks Gabor, Your eye for detail exceeds all. This is the actual bird I'm interested in making - a Jawbreaker Mi-17 with the Zvezda kit. I figured I could make the nose pod if needed and also the extra fuel tanks in the cargo bay but was hoping for an easy option...
  7. Pre-war 4th FIG markings looked pretty sporty with the squadron badge and large flaming arrow on the fuselage. I built this one with the Cutting Edge conversion and I’d love to be able to replace it with a better one. Ben
  8. 4th FIG has been covered reasonably well in kits/aftermarket, but there are entire F-86A squadrons that have never been covered! (15th FIS, 469th FIS etc). There are MANY colour schemes to choose from and I suspect those early-war Korean schemes will be dealt with pretty quickly. My aim will be to try and get the 'meanwhile, back at home' USAF colour schemes done.
  9. Great addition, especially if you are building a “Black Pony” Bronco from VAL-4 or a Marine VMO Bronco in RVN. Semper, Ski
  10. The only gold kit that can build any USAF block in the single seater config is the ANG F-16C kit. It contains the block 30/40/50 sprue that includes the GE exhaust and MCID wide mouth intake. The F-16D kit also includes the GE/MCID sprue. In theory, the other gold single seater kits can build an early block 30 w/narrow mouth intake. But you will need to swap out the PW exhaust with an aftermarket GE set.
  11. Great news. An iconic piece of TV/sci-fi/modeling and pop culture history.
  12. I dig how the top wings are molded as one part with a connecting inner-brace. It'll help with keeping proper dihedral when putting the wings together. Surface detail looks nice and fine, yet crisp. One thing that sort of spoiled me on the the Airfix Sabre are those trench-like panel lines, especially when you compare them to the Hasegawa Sabre, or the Monogram/Academy Sabre Dog. I actually didn't know about the issue with the Hasegawa kit's cross-section. Its a really subtle one but I'm still pushing through with my ROCAF Sabre and my Avon conversion. I'm pretty forgiving of very s

  14. I have a spare single seat canopy and windscreen from an MPC (Airfix) kit, would that work? edit: I just compared the MPC part to a Hasegawa kit in my stash, they aren't even close ☹️

  16. Dragging this back to the top to see if this might have moved on or not? Have a Canadian bird I would like to build from an airfix kit.
  17. Two museum examples of Wright J65 powered Skyhawks. As Tommy points out in his blog, shorter exhaust shrouds may have been fitted to these aircraft earlier in life.
  18. I am looking for any bomber crews from the 1/48 Monogram kits or any other kits. Seated and standing are good .....Need about 2-3 of each. Willing to buy or trade I am in the USA EMAIL me: sjcorvi11@gmail.com Thanks Steve,
  19. Hi all, The Luftwaffe Sabre JG 71 is among the most colorful birds of the foreign exports. Getting accurate camo pattern for your project is quite challenging as there are wide variations of the interpretations pending on the painters. Your mercy is at what photos you can find. The Eagle Strike decals give you a nice compliment of stencils. However note the Hasegawa F-40 is NOT the MK 6 so the panel lines are not correct throwing you a curved ball when appliying stencils decals. Dai
  20. Available in 48th and 72nd. Let me know if any of you would have interest in a 32nd release. This gun pod was carried on OV-10A Broncos that i can tell only on the centerline. Inside the pod was a Colt 20mm cannon used on aircraft like the A-4 Skyhawk and other Naval aircraft in that era.
