  1. I've got a step by step article with photos here on paint stripping using squirt type oven cleaner.....virtually no fumes........quick, easy to do. http://s96920072.onlinehome.us/tnt1/001-10...ping/tnt038.htm You'll find move articles on this topic under "stripping paint" in the Tool 'n' tips section. Good luck.......it's quite easy to do. Steve B
  2. Hi Guys, Steve F or Ken M or myself can move threads. Please provide the URL's for thread you want moved. Enjoy the group build. Steve B
  3. If you like using a brush to apply liquid glue.....the Tamiya liquid glue has an amazing brush......perfection. The glue works very well also. Steve B
  4. I bought my tube of Spot glazing auto putty in 1979....if I leave the cap off the tube,.....I take my eye dropper and put a few drops of laquar thinner in the top and put the cap back on. An hour later it's like a new tub of putty. Steve B ARC

    Washes?

There's a couple of articles about washes on ARC. There are other ways of doing washes (such as using water and acrylic paint). One bit of advice about all washes.......the liquid you make up to do the wash should be as clear as strong tea......you can build on it if you want more......subtle is the key......you're not painting......you're just adding shadows to provide depth to the area. Canned Air?!

Those cans are pretty mild. I do recall blowing dust off a 1/48 Me-109 with 15 psi compressed air from my air tank. I wasn't holding the model very firmly......it "flew" 8 feet before crashing on the concrete floor. Steve B
  7. I've mixed gloss enamel black (tiny amount) with SnJ and Alclad with great success to get various shades of grey. Steve B ARC
  8. Does anyone know if this is running on the Space channel in Canada ...or when in the future this will happen? Steve B
  9. Bottom line is I believe a post of this nature should have a valid name and e-mail attached. If an individual wants to attack someone's business and attempt to affect the income (in a negative way) of that business and the person that owns that business.....then I think a valid name and preferably a valid e-mail should be attached. From the start, "Subhuman" has avoided this....and that was the #1 reason I pulled his thread originally. This policy is not new or nor is it very difficult to understand the reasons behind such a simple policy. I stand behind my original policy to pull the thr
  10. Well it's good to see we've sorted all this out for you. I'd love to chat more on this but I'm trying to get an update done so I can go to bed. Steve B
  11. OMG ... I thought I had the ultimate laugh until I saw the brand new forum "rules" posted by your fearless leader. LMMFAO He just made up a set of rules targetting nothing other than exactly what my topic contains. How predictable a feeble mind can be :) Of course bad business ethics are nowhere mentioned, unlike on other sites i.e. Ebay with user reports. Then again from the few who've posted here on this thread I wouldn't expect acknowledgement of proper ethics.be it business or otherwise. When I set up this forum for Bad Traders......I didn't think there was a need to explain some ba
  12. Threads like this are what my wife calls....."The Soap Opera Threads"...... She could be onto something. Heck even DA woke up....he must of had flashbacks to the old days on RMS. Steve B
  13. 1) If you have a complaint against a business.....please post your message including your real name and your e-mail address. 2) Don't post messages about a business until you have exhausted all efforts to resolve the issue with the retailer. 3) Third hand complaints will be removed. 4) Don't bother posting messages if a business was slow processing your order or getting your order out to you. 5) Don't bother posting messages if your order took a while to arrive (due to back ordered items in your order). Any messages not following these guidelines will be removed. Steve B ARC ARC
  14. "subhuman" If you have a complaint about a retailer.....you must use your real name and preferably provide an e-mail. You chose not to do this and you still choose not to do this so I feel your compalint is unfair on any retailer. I do not know Paul at Victory models......I have never ordered from him.....but I believe every business deserves to be treated fairly. You are not being fair by complaining without identifying yourself. This makes me think you could be not telling the truth and are trying to hide something. It is my duty to be fair to everyone and you are not being fair in thi
  15. "Subhuman" Let's look at some basic facts here why I removed your post/thread. 1)No name was included with your post. Do you think you can slam a business and not even have the backbone to provide your real name? This is quite one sided to say the least and takes away much from your complaint. 2) You charge card was debited on Wednesday Dec 17 and you haven't received the goods by Sun Dec 21. Are you even remotely aware how stupid you appear at this point? 3) Paul did say the goods were shipped etc as you mentioned.....this means it's an issue still in progress between you and Paul.
  16. Yup....use wire or metal pins ....drill holes in bomb and pylon an dattach whole set-up with CA. This will hold the bombs forever. Bit more work but well worth the effort. Steve B
  17. Beautiful work Mark.....I am left with my mouth hanging open. Steve B

    f16

In general all F-16's are very clean.....some gun powder stains around the gun is the main area to weather. BUT.....there are exceptions......have a look at this Belgian F-16. This photo is direct off a website devoted to the Belgian Airforce. Steve B
  19. Kelly.....try tinyting the Alclad with a tiny bit of enamel gloss black. I used this with fantastic success on SnJ and if I recall correctly.....I also used this trick with Alclad. This technique permits you to buy one bottle of the lightest coloured metalizer and tint as you go. I have found Alclad to be the best metalizer....with SnJ be a close second. Steve B
  20. If you clean the inside of the cap and the threads on the bottle you will never have a stuck lid. It's the dried paint on the threads that is causing your grief. To remove a stuck lid easily.......my favourite method is to stick the paint bottle upside down in a bowl of boiling water. Have the water just deep enough to cover the lid of the upside down bottle.....but NOT deep enough to damage the labels on the jar. Wait a few minutes until the hot water loosens the lid.....then take laquar thinner and clean the threads. IF....you are a clean freak about the threads....you will never have a

  22. I employ a very high-tech anti-spill device to keep Tenax from spilling. Now Steve, you have two kids....you've GOT to have a couple of these floating around :  Good one Steve F......I've got my tenax secired with.....not one.....but 2 Eggs (containers) of silly putty. And I have it stored further back on the surface of my workbench. Of course anyone that sees this figures some spastic person with little remaining control of their limbs is building models at my workbench. I guess it does help if one has had a few beers or if the lights go out.....but I tell everyone it's l
  23. Actually....that's a creative way to keep the cat out of trouble......I can't comment any further....there might be a cat reading this.... Steve B
  24. I've used Tenax and the glass tub aplicator....molten plastic clogged up the needle at the end of the tub. I was not amused. Save yourself some grief. Buy a bottle of the Tamiya liquid glue. I use the stuff......short bottle that's hard to tip over (Tenax bottle is tall and skinny and designed to be knocked over). The Tamiya liquid glue comes with a first rate applicator brush......very fine at the tip but thicker further up to hold a perfect amount of glue. Since I started using the Tamiya liquid glue.....I've given up on all the others. It does the job and it does it very well. :D
