Dirkpitt289, Good idea on dirty up the chips by the wing root, I took your idea dusted up the chips a bit and seal it with the satin coat, it kinda reduce the shine ..final result as below.. Completed... P-40C, AVG Flying Tigers flown by Chuck Older Not to bad for this cheap kit, hope you like it..

blunce, Indeed..new techniques were always found from mistake.."you never wrong , you never learn".. and added weathering.. panel line with pencil.. silver pen for paint chips...I think it is overdone...but nevermind.. final satin coat tomorrow and should be complete by this weekend..

Guys, thanks, marble effect yeh.. and the industrial thinner did not harm the plastic.. maybe next time can use for very weathered paint effect... and put on the Academy's decals...flying tiger with teeth now..not too bad, out of register on the roudels..overall batter than I anticipated.. next weathering..

Deacon, sorry for late reply, just saw your replay, and yes i did drilled out the barrel on the Saladin, but not too deep.. And that airfield base was homemake..using thick cardboard, and spray it with various shade of grays, it is my standard photo shooting base..

Hi, got mine like 10 yrs ago, so doesn't sound good...let's see how yours turn out... anyway, I painted the cockpit and put the wing and fuselage togather, fitting is not too bad, photo update later..

Hi, Received the Malaysian roundels from AX365 and immediately put to use, thank you Mike Futured...Decaled..and dark grey panel line washed... And final result as below, that Hobbycraft's RMAF roundels sure added some colors to the otherwise boring OD paint scheme.... Ok.... got this bug painted. and the kit decal is old, torn and some disintegrated on me…including the fist emblem on the port tail..sigh.. anybody have any unwanted 1/144 hornet to spare, pleaes let me know... I also make a display stand with metal rod.. next will matt coat and done..
