  1. The Squadron B-52 in Action (1992 version) and Aerofax B-52G/H book both list 159' 4" as the B-52H/Phase VI length, and also agree on 156' for as-built. Both books pre-date the M61 removal, and interestingly, the B-52 fact sheet on www.af.mil also lists 159' 4", so some dated info there it seems. For what it's worth, the B-52G/Phase VI length was 160.91' per both books, so very close to 160' 11". GWH kit fit well for me and is nicely detailed, but Academy's kit (which I'm about halfway through) is more accurate, especially in the gear wells. I think Academy has the be
  2. Terrific job, I especially like the weathering on the control surfaces, great effect. Chris
  3. Couple of cloth patches here, though I realize it doesn't add much to what Dutch already found: USAFpatches.com – The US Air Force Patch Collectors Website Chris
  4. Are there any other options for FT-coded 74 FS F-16Cs other than TwoBobs 48-088? 90-0776.jpg photos | F-16.net Thanks Chris
  5. That sounds great, thanks for doing these. Can you tell me if Carswell made the cut for 144020? Chris
  6. I’m in, looking forward to it! Chris
  7. Also great reference for my non-SOLL C-141B project (someday). Interesting how it appears to be a McGuire tail flash superimposed over Charleston markings... Thanks! Chris
  8. Looking forward to seeing the subjects! Chris
  9. I found one close up shot of the SOLL nose mods in Giant Cargo Planes by Veronico & Dunn, but it sounds like what Dutch found may be much better- Chris
  10. Some interesting conversions based on the 1/144 Minicraft B-29 here: Minicraft RB-29 Superfortress "Postwar" Kit Review - 2Modeler.com (dembrudders.com) Incidentally by the (former) president of Minicraft... Chris
  11. Coincidentally, I ran across this paragraph last night and thought of this discussion: "Whenever we talk about a pilot who has been killed in a flying accident, we should all keep one thing in mind. He called upon the sum of all his knowledge and made a judgment. He believed in it so strongly that he bet his life on it. That his judgment was faulty is a tragedy, not stupidity. Every instructor, supervisor, and contemporary who ever spoke to him had an opportunity to influence his judgment, so a little bit of all of us goes with every pilot we lose. - Unknown (From We Were Crew
  12. Thanks for the info...that narrows it down! I rechecked the single source I have connecting the name & tail number (a jet/name summary I found on Facebook several months ago), and think there are a few possibilities: 1) the nose art was added after publication of the Superbase book, or possibly removed prior to that photo 2) the source I have is wrong, and Ark La Taz was on a different jet (perhaps 86-0028, since some "last 4" numbers were reused on both FY85 & FY86 Extenders) 3) similar to above, 85-0028 could be misidentified in Superbase book, since
  13. Apparently 85-0028 was known as "Ark-La-Taz" while stationed at Barksdale in the late 80s/early 90s...would love to find a photo of the nose art. Thanks Chris
  14. Very nice Rick, thanks for sharing- Chris
  15. All I got...thanks for working with ResKit on this-
  16. Very nice, I built this particular kit when Hobbycraft first released it...have three copies of the B/E versions in the stash...despite the well-printed Cartograf decals in the latest Academy release, I probably won't start one until Caracal scales down 72091. I don't have any insight on the antiglare decal though... Chris
