  1. Do Trumpeter provide the refueling stuff?
  2. Great! What A-6 squadron would that be with VF-11 flying Deltas?
  3. Am thinking... Is there any KA-6D in 1/32? Would be a VF-11 Delta refueling then!
  4. So let's say Flying Pencil refueling from a Foxtrot VFA-41 Rhino would be my best bet if I can't find VX-23 decals
  5. Thanks for the great info! Wonder if there are VX-23 decals in 1/32 scale for both jets
  6. I also readed somewhere that Rhino were cleared to refuel since 2002, that would render the project feasible then, just have to find which Tomcat squadron was around those tankers... But, since BuNo164604 was a Test aircraft, is would make a buddy refueling from a Rhino a great possibility finally, I "just" would have to find VX-9 or VX-30 decals for the Echo or Foxtrot Rhino
  7. Wow, great replies! Then question is, do any maker makes a 1:32 S-3?
  8. Time frames would be VF-11, VF-31, VF-154, VF-2 last cruises and last years of BuNo 164604 at VX-9 Build will also be 1/32 scale
  9. Hi Folks, Once Bullet 100 (BuNo163894) dio will be finished, I plan to start a new build, but this time with several aircrafts in flight. I'm not decided on the Tomcat variant nor squadron (maybe VF-11 showbird on their last cruise, the full color F-14B, or Vandy 1, or a VF-154 F-14Ag, or even one of VF-31 F-14Ds), but what I do know is that the aircraft is being in-flight refueled. Question is, what Navy aircraft is going to give the fuel given the time frames? S-3? K/A-6D? Rhino? Sorry for not being more precise... Cheers
  10. Thanks for the reply! So showing BuNo163894 landing with both pods would be accurate, great news! Didn't you keep the pods loaded on the "good" TARPS jets, as I recall to have readed in the book US Navy F-14 Tomcats units in OEF, with the VF-2 bird with the unique load of MK-82(?) and TARPS? Regarding the markings, at the start of the cruise, did the jets have the "Last Tomcat Cruise" markings on the tail? Cheers
  11. Hi Folks, I'm planing to start some kind of a diorama featuring BuNo163894 just after touchdown on the carrier, with all control surfaces "activated". Engine nozzles will be in closed position in this set up. Question is, do anyone knows if the TARPS pod was on the belly of BuNo163894 at any time? I mean, very early on cruise, when the Air Wing just went aboard, so the bird would carry both the TARPS and LTS pods to later unload one of them once on deck? Cheers
  12. wow, vous (tu?) êtes hyper réactif, ça fait plaisir!
  13. Hey, would you have a link to this crew, in 1/32 scale? cheers
  14. Yup, that would be usefull for a landing/take off diorama!
  15. Nice pics! good to see that there are still few Tomcat remaining!
  16. Oh ok! thank you for the precision! Would be my bird accurate despite the names on the canopy?
  17. nope, I don't have early construction pics, sorry! The only hint I can provide you concerns the fit of the engines with the intakes in place: do not glue the front part, it will be used to center the intake assembly)at least on my bird), and simply take your time and work on sub assemblies
  18. I received mine on december 24, and started building it on sunday. The overall fit is pretty good, but the intakes need some work to be adjusted, and the inside parts to be aligned with the engines. The left engine fairing fits really well, but the right one needs some work. As for now, I worked on sub-assemblies: the wings, front fuselage, intakes, vertical fins, engines and stabilators. The main fuselage is only dry assembled, as well as the front fuselage is fixed to the rear with Tamyia tape. The gun took me 3hrs or work, in order to get all 6 barrells aligned... I decided to let as many p
  19. Greatmodels will have the F-14D this week in stock, so mine will be shipped this week as well, since I pre-ordered it
  20. pre-order placed, gonna see the quality in time...
  21. I'll have 2 big Cats to finish on this GB: an F-14B from VF-101 and an F-14A from NSAWC. Decals for both birds come from Fightertown Decals. The VF-101 Tomcat has originally been build as a VF-143 Tomcat and is in the "in progress pics" section
  22. That kit will be perfect for those who want to build the kit in maintenance, take off or landing configurations. However, that kit better looks like a B or a D than a A model. The option for the opened panels and wing glove is a good add (that's what I think about it)
  23. So guys I've been quite busy the last months and the building process will resume for the GB. And this bird is going to be transferred to VF-101 in the 2001-2003 sheme. 2 F-14Ds will follow a bit later, one from VF-101(AD 103) and one as Felix 101 in the Tomcat Sunset sheme
