  1. Yes, strange... but strangely compelling. The more I look at it, the cooler it gets! Andy
  2. Nice work there John Did the same kit at about the same time (constant media coverage is great inspiration!). Actually that period saw many of the tamiya tank kits built and painted and would love to post them here, unfortunatley they are probably land fill somewhere... I moved out and became a chef. While my parents kept my bedroom as it was, somehow all of my kits looked like dust to my mother. :) Anyway, nice work on the T-72 a classic Andy
  3. Thanks for the reply, sounds like I will be spending some money now! As for QMHE, nothing can stop me! Last year was my first time to a model expo, and I spent more than I should have. :) This time my finances are prepared! Andy
  4. ixgr1,I have always been tempted to order from CC, and I have noticed your from Brizzie, if you don't mind me asking... Can you give me an idea to the cost of shipping? I have been dreaming about all the 1/35 Blackhawk stuff, if I can come up with a decent argument, SWMBO will be cool with it! Your recent purchase has made my mouth water. Andy enjoying the first signs of winter in paradise!
  5. Sooo sorry to see this This is actually my nightmare... The SWMBO is Italian, and does like to clean... So far no losses, knock on wood, you have my sympathy. The skill alone on the finished Ranger shows you she can be rebuilt. It will be stronger, it will be faster... cue Six Million Dollar Man theme! Andy
  6. I'm taking a guess, but from this angle it looks as though it might be one of those missile launch detectors!?! Like the ones on the nose of the Blackhawk. Hope that sounds plausible. Andy
  7. HeavyArty is spot on, spend a little time on the men... it will be well worth it. If you are going to be spending so much time getting it right, take a chance. I have been working on the door gunners, the first shows a frame work and the second shows an almost completed face mask! Just trying to help! Andy
  8. Sorry that this has taken sooooooooooooooo long! Had to bin the camera, warranty ran out, so it died! ;) Bought a new one and still trying to work out the "macro" settings, so the results are average... The first shows the results when using a silver ball from a christmas tree. Beautifully reflective, just the pieces where not large enough. BIN. The second shows something more satisfying. I used some silver tinsel as a base and covered it with, it's hard to describe, so the third picture hopfully gives you an idea. I cut the small pieces on top of the balloon weight (used at weddings) as th
  9. I had the same question about 2 years ago concerning the ammo feeds! Heavyarty (Gino) posted a great pic from Sal Provenzano... Hope this helps Andy
  10. Thanks for some ideas guys. :D The question relates to the fact, I may have found a real use for Christmas decorations! SWMBO has some interesting bits and pieces, and does not mind me tearing up some of it. I will be giving this experiment a run this weekend and will post the results, good or bad. Quote:I saw one done with the foil from a Twix candy bar wrapper. You guys have those in Oz right?pastafarian What's a Twix? B) How's your weather at the moment? Missing summer I imagine! Andy
  11. No, not some 70's revival, just a quick question regarding the Disco Ball. I have seen various pics of the Blackhawk and Apache, and in most it does appears red. I have seen some other some pics though, and it looks gold or silver. Is each piece a highly reflective surface, or actually red? If this is classified, pretend I did not ask! ;) Thanks Andy
  12. As usual, great responses! Just one more question, Hypothetically, would the harness reach as far as the doors? Thanks Andy
