  1. I get the feeling a spam edit adding a link is coming...
  2. Back on the B-21, I thought this had some interesting insights and speculation about it:
  3. I found one reference that said 4:30pm PST/7:30pm EST
  4. OK, so just to be clear then, you're saying that Craig Hutain, flying the P-63, had no business being in a cockpit, and way more money and ego than brains, correct? And do we need to add Captain Terry Barker, Captain Len Root, Major Curtis Rowe, Kevin Michels and Dan Ragan from the B-1 to that as well? You know their abilities and and can make that as a factual statement?
  5. No answers here, but an overview from an experienced pilot:
  6. Agreed, looks like a great venue, and a nice place for aircraft folk to hang out. Nice pics of the entries, too, thanks!
  7. That's a good point, Da SWO, it may be that the space no longer required for the cameras means that you don't need dedicated platforms - anything can be a recon craft if needed. Also, the F-35 is supposed to be nearly a miniature AWACS, so it may also be planned to fill the role of recon aircraft under some circumsances.
  8. In case it helps, here are a couple more pics, different views of the black F-16, the Aggressor F-35, and another F-16:
  9. Thanks for the comments, and yeah, I thought that Apache had an interesting weathering look, and how the sensors seem to have been replaced or cleaned up somehow. Here's the next round - I took so many photos, I'm just kind of bouncing around to find some I think are interesting.
  10. Nellis had their first air show since 2019, and as usual, it was a great show. I took a ton of photos, and am still going through them, so apologies if some new photos are added over time. Starting with photos of things on the ground that I took with my phone:
  11. Great shots! I especially like the Thunderbirds single- and two-ship closeups, really sharp with lots of detail. Very cool!
  12. Really nice! I actually still have the one I built when I was 15, back when the show was new, so there's some nostalgia there, and it's nice to see a base build, without a lot of custom parts and other mods. It looks great!
  13. Nice pics! I live just a few miles from the base, and go just about every year, but this year forgot about getting grandstand tickets online until the last minute and they were sold out, so I didn't go in. I always felt that the south-facing seating didn't present the best lighting, and since I wasn't going in, I decided to try something I had been curious about and pick a spot south of the base, and while I didn't great views of things because I was so far away, the lighting was much better. I think I'll try to get to a spot south of the runway on base next time, if possible. H
  14. Here's a video discussing the F-35s being used as aggressors. I don't think this person has any inside info, but I don't think anything he says seems out of line or improbable.
  15. MSFS looks really good, and I am constantly tempted to buy it, but just flying around doesn't seem like something that would keep my interest for very long. Back in the day, when I was taking flying lessons, I used the version that was available, combined with some additional scenery updates, to practice procedures and build a memory of routine operations (check in at this range, keep this altitude, scan the instruments, set the flaps at this point, etc.), but since I am no longer doing that, I am not sure how interested I would be. Like Sebastijan, I am getting more into DCS, alt
  16. I also get that the site is not found. I did a whois lookup on that domain name, and it looks like it was just created on 4/19/2022, so it hasn't been around long, so I wouldn't trust it even if it were operational. 17. From my experience, it is possible to watch a fictional movie AND watch documentaries. And I have sometimes found that the documentaries can turn out to be somewhat fictional...
  18. I'm not sure if it matches the paint job was on the one flown on the mission, but Revell has this: https://www.revell.com/maverick-s-f-a-18e-super-hornet.html Sorry, I see that this is the Top Gun paint job.
  19. I flew on a MAX on a 3-hour flight and it was nice, but the seat felt too firm to me, almost like there was not much padding between the upholstery and the frame. It looked pretty new, so maybe it just needed to be broken in a bit. That was a first class seat, and I had always been comfortable in the other 737 first class seats, so it really surprised me.
  20. I would say that the seller is completely to blame for taking money and not refunding it. And I don't know if this was a factor, but with the current supply chain issues, I think everyone has begun to expect delays, and are being more patient with sellers to get the items ordered. I don't see how waiting makes the buyer somehow to blame for the seller's behavior.
  21. That looks like a great museum, thanks for the photos!
