I want to build Manfred Von Richthofens last mount, and have bought Model Airways 1/16 Fokker Dr.I. I want to get Gaspatch models Spandau guns. Should I get the regular ones, or the ones with the extended loading handle..? http://www.gaspatchmodels.com/machine-guns-1-16/ I found some pics on the web, of the Spandaus from Richthofens wreck, that to me looks like the regular loading handles. But I'm no expert... Can anybody help out..? Jorgen "Troll" Toll

I know slats were rare, if at all, in SEA. But this pic made me wonder. There's a shadow on the outer wing on -362 that could look like a slat, but it's probably just the sawtooth..? https://martycavato.smugmug.com/Military/Udorn-Thailand-1971-72/i-BJKSkx6/A

Did 362 have the slatted wing or not? Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Awesome subject! I have this jet with a lot of aftermarket goodies in my stash. I was born on the 8th of July 1972... Until Marty Cavatos pics surfaced, there were very few pics available of 67-362. They fired 3 Sparrows in the engagement, so there should be one left. I have Fox One Decals 48-024 that covers this aircraft. Perhaps you can find it on ebay? Keep up the great work! Since the canard flaps are the only flaps on the 37, yes those are the flaps I'm talking about! ;) The flight controls on the main wing are called elevons. And although they do move 4 deg. with the flaps, they do so to counteract the pitch up moment of the flaps. A sort of auto-trim, if you wish. It was hard to tell from the pics, if they were pointed at the root or not. I had hoped I could catch you doing something stupid... Rats! ;) Jorgen "Troll" Toll

I'm just jealous, so I'll criticize... Are those flaps drooping far enough..? :) Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Definately a god save! If you look closely at the decals on the full size, you will see slightly darkened edges from the laquer used to seal the edges. And, a word of advice... Test your decals first! No, I don't either... ;) Jorgen "Troll" Toll

You know I'm on to your scheme... You don't actually build models, but steal real aircraft and shrink them! ;) Think of it this way... To really compare old vs. new, you need to make a Tarangus copy of your ESCI/Airfix/TwoMikes Viggen... You owe it to your fans..! :) Jorgen "Troll" Toll

I want your skills, Janne. Are they for sale..? ;) Looking forward to see you build a splinter-camo 37 after this one... Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Looks great, as always! Will Tarangus release a AJ-37 or is that accomplished with aftermarket stuff? The Nordic Airpower Viggen book is great, but I cried when I saw the F15 page... Flottilla emblem from Wikipedia..! Sigh! Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Mister Spiiiidbildah!! ;) That looks great! Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Really? The Revell E is that good? Have to check it out! Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Looks great! Any word on a E version from GWH? Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Janne, I understand that there are size differences between the Esci/Airfix and Tarangus kits. Have you checked with references? Jorgen "Troll" Toll

You are welcome, Janne! :) Jorgen "Troll" Toll

LOL! I always thought "Robot Noll Fem" was pretty cool! ;)/> I got to try the sim while I did my military service as a crewchief at F15. That was before I got my civilian pilots license. I have never been a airforce pilot. Just so everybody knows where I'm coming from. The Rb05 was a special kind of beast... First of all, it was propelled by a type of rocket fuel that was classified as a neurotoxin..! The live missiles were delivered in gas tight "condoms" with a leakage indicator. The missile was remote controlled by the pilot of the launching aircraft. The pilot had to guide the missi

Almost correct! The Rb05 was the remote controlled missile that was controlled by the finger stick on the R/H console. :) I have 10 Rb05 launches in the dedicated Rb05 simulator at F15. The screen from that sim is now used for the AJS-37 sim at the F15 museum... Jorgen "Troll" Toll

I know what you're writing about, Aigore... When I did my military service as a conscript crew chief on the Viggen, we had a Italian aviation journalist visiting. He refused to beleive a team of 5 conscripts changed the weapon load and refueled the kite in 15 minutes, block on to block off... :-D SAAB know he meaning of serviceability! I......want.....it......NOW!!! Jorgen "Troll" Toll

I forgive you! I probably wouldn't have seen it until you'd finished the build anyway... ;-) Very nice sixteen, BTW! :-) Jorgen "Troll" Toll

Hasegawa has never issued a 1/16 Camel before. They did a 1/8 Camel once, and they did a 1/16 Wright Flyer. This one is new. Edit: You may also be confused by the 1/16 Camel from Model Airways. That one is a wood and metal kit. Jorgen "Troll" Toll

4400 yen... That would be around $45. Jorgen "Troll" Toll
