It was a fine tip sharpie. But I learned a bad lesson. When I dullcoted the figure, the pen ink melted. His chest is ok, but I will probably have to redo his legs. I am thinking I could have prevented this if I had coated him with future first. Oh well, you live, you learn.

They have been building up to this for years. Next up is totally artificial life and yes they are already working on it. And you doomsdayers need to remember: Lots of people have cried its the end and so far none of them have been right. Anyhoo...

Yeah, I'm in at this point.

I have heard bad things about these kits, but it looks great! Did those lights come with the kit?

Sure it's a bad idea. If it were safe, it wouldn't be fun. Bad ideas on film is what makes the internet great !

Watch these: http://www.urlesque.com/2010/05/19/remote-...-real-missiles/ The one that says "maybe this wasnt such a good idea" is slightly NSFW due to language. I really dug the depth charges, that was cool.

Do the bumpity-bump.

Our town just got power back last night at 10:30. The tornado was maybe 6 or 7 miles from me. Boy is it nice to have power again. All is well here.

Foxit reader is the best free one I know of. I always uninstall Acrobat and install it instead. It comes up instantly instead of locking up your computer for a minute or two. Unfortunately, I don't think it will help Steve out, its just a reader. http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/download.php

Thanks, I don't know why I waited 10 years to paint this thing, I am having all kinds of fun.

Whoah, never thought this thread would be resurected. I have this idea on my "to do" list but back a ways. I was thinking that I could also do a thunderbirds-esqe paint job in black and red. Tail would either be a Oklahoma flag warshield on blue from a hypothetical fighter group or some kind of futuristic post apocalyptic Native Republic made of OK TX AZ NM. I would still have to think of something to put on the tail but that would be easy. Later.

Something where the Modelers arcane knowledge of an airplane saves the day. Like "I knew we could escape out the hatch because I had to scribe the hatch into a kit I built. You're welcome Mr President."

Check this out. I'm not gonna say what happens but it's cool. http://www.thatvideosite.com/video/camera_...lade_frequency/

This is the latest figure I am working on. I got this thing about 10 years ago, I don't remember where or who made it. Its a nice figure. It's BIG! The biggest figure I ever worked on. His dreads are all molded down on his head area as one lump, but still are nicely done. I had already assembled it years ago. I filled some gaps with white glue, a new technique I picked up which is very useful for figure models. I spraypainted it a good tan, then applied oil paint for shadows. I just apply a speck of paint here or there, very lightly, then scrub with a stiff brush to blend it in. Eas

Top notch as always Ken.

I got a copy of the instructions. Thanks Steve for your help. Thanks also to Finn, that would have worked.
-
That would be great. Thanks for your help.
-
Could somebody please send me a scan of the instruction sheet? I dug out an old kit but need instructions to see if it is all there. TIA

Yeah, I am using the Promodeler (Hasegawa) 1/48 model myself. I will have to make decals for it. I never thought about it but I guess there isn't an option for 1/72, that is a strange omission for such a well known plane.
-
Hey, thanks for the info. I went ahead and painted in IG so am good. I appreciate the info that is specific to this plane.

I think LOTS of people are just holding their breath, waiting for this model to be released.

Lots of people have said it on this board before but, USE AVG ANTIVIRUS. It's free and very good. If you use Norton or Macaffee, uninstall them and use avg, its better.
