Actually I was kind of pulling for the Seahawks. I thought it would have been refreshing to see them make it. Really feel kind of bad for most of the Seattle team and their fans. I had them as one of my dark horse teams coming into the playoffs.
-
True. Parts of that game made me scratch my head. I really thought Seattle was going to win that game though.Atlanta had a tough time with Seattle today, after what Kaepernick and the Niners did last night the Falcons are up against a real tough matchup. I think the Niners are going to the Superbowl.

Wow, what a game they had in Atlanta. That last ten minutes kept you on the edge of your seat.

Visited Hal Marshman in the hospital today

So Hal can have visitors? Hope he is doing better now. Glad to hear he is in good spirits. Certainly seems promising from what you've been posting Terry. -
Looks like I will be doing A LOT of building
JasonW replied to phantom's topic in General Discussion
Doing a lot of building??!! As opposed to that low build rate you've already attained? Seriously though, get well and hope you are back in the swing of things in short order. -
Very sorry to hear of this loss. Thoughts and condolences go out to the family.

Some encouraging news on our friend Hal Marshman
JasonW replied to terrysumner's topic in General Discussion
Glad to hear Hal seems to have cleared a major hurdle. Still in my thoughts, hoping for the best. -
I'd kind of forgot about this in all the holiday hub-bub. Everybody who wants in on this round please post confirmation here and I'll start compiling the address list and getting the box ready. It hasn't really been gone through much by me since it last arrived so I should probably do an inventory and print out a new inventory sheet.

My thoughts are with Hal and his family. He is a true gentleman, and I hope he has a speedy and complete recovery.

I was under the impression the red came up to where the waterline was or about 3/4 or so of the hull.ARC member Parche is on subs or was if I remember correctly. He should know for sure I would think.

Navy officer who shot down Air Force jet
JasonW replied to Scott R Wilson's topic in General Discussion
The guy admitted to consciously (and intentionally) firing a live missile at a friendly aircraft during what was supposed to be unarmed TRAINING EXERCISE. I would hardly put this in the same category as downing a friendly aircraft during a combat situation. -

Having served in the Army myself, I agree with your line of reasoning. As I posted earlier, I've seen folks get a court martial for far less than what this guy did. I found it hard to believe at first also. This seems far fetched, but it seems to be legit from what I've been able to find and read thus far. The pilot in question had a dad who was an admiral so that might explain part of it. -

What is really interesting though is that the Washington Times seems to be the only major news outlet with an article related to this incident and the Captains nomination for admiral. The rest of the articles I find are on aviation related sites and blogs. -

+1I've seen people go to court martial for far less. At the very least this clown should have been dishonorably discharged. In my opinion he should have been tried for attempted murder and issued a bill for the RF-4C. -
I guess, but that is making the assumption that the elite teams bring their A game. We all know how consistent teams have been lately.....Like they say, that's why they play the game.

Fox tried that when they broadcast NHL games, it didn't work. :)

RGIII go boom. Seattle is about to get into the next round. Seattle's defense is looking pretty good. Baltimore looked tough, really looking forward to their game in Denver. Houston might surprise some folks if they can get it together. I have a feeling Green Bay might go all the way this year.

I find myself in the same place I was in 2004 during the last NHL debacle. I'm really just worn out by all the baloney. After 2004 it took me a good three or four years to get really interested in the NHL again. It'll probably take almost as long this time if I ever come back. I'm really disappointed by both sides in this episode. I know they both point fingers at the other, but seriously it fell on both sides to get this done and they both failed in my opinion. The worst part of the whole thing was the folks who lost work at the arenas. All those folks who worked in concessions, the ushers,

I had a package from Freetime Hobbies in Georgia that shipped via UPS. IT was in Chelmsford, MA (about 5 miles from my house) on December 23rd. It went to Hartford, CT on the evening of the 23rd and didn't get delivered to my house until December 31st. So USPS is hardly the only service to do this. In my full time work I deal with material handling equipment which includes bar code scanners. This probably fell under the mis-sort category. While very effective, bar code scanners depend on a lot of different details, one of the foremost being the print quality of the label. Typically (especiall

I also thought that was a great book. After reading that I started building/buying all sorts of US DD/DE's and had love affair with the Wildcat for a while.

To add further detail. The Japanese set up a decoy force of carriers to bait the task force (TF34) of US battleships and cruiser that Halsey commanded away from their assigned area (they were providing protection for US amphibious landings in the Philippines). Halsey took the bait and gave chase effectively leaving the invasion beaches and San Bernardino Strait almost completely unprotected. A separate Japanese strike force of battleships and cruisers moved in and started to wreak havoc on a covering CVE force (Task Unit 77.4.3 or 'Taffy 3' consisting of just destroyers and escort carriers) in

Holy cripes! They're re-issuing the ooooollllllddddddd angle deck Essex class carrier as the U.S.S. Hornet (CVS-12) too. Wow, they are really breaking out some old molds for that one. Built one when I was 11. It was a kit my dad had since like 1971 given to him by the VA. That will bring back some memories. :)
-
YES!!! They're re-issuing their 1/72 F-101B Voodoo! Nice! Sign me up for that one. Probably get the 1/72 Ju-88C-6 as well.
