  1. I found a recent discussion on the PC-6/AU-23/UV-20 (not sure which forum it was on) that included some images of a resin conversion for the Roden AU-23 kit to convert it to the Australian version with the PWC PT-6 engine cowling. The conversion set also included new seats, stores pylons (shorter than the kit parts) along with two parachute equipped cargo containers. The name of the company that produces this conversion is Hamilton Hobbies and they are located in Australia. Anyone familiar with this company and know where this conversion can be purchased? Thanks,
  2. If you have the money to spend, the quick solution to your Chaff/Flare dispenser and mini-gun problem is to find a 1/35th scale Academy HH-60 or MH-60 kit. Both of these kits contain the parts you seek.
  3. Armor Research is going out of business. The owner/proprietor has posted a product list of the remaining items he has available for sale on CyberModeler at this link: ------> http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/news100427a.shtml I realize that this forum is predominately aviation in focus and that the majority Ray's product line would not apply to your needs. I would like to point out that Ray has a variety of rulers available that could be of some use to you when building your next project. Here is what is currently available (from the cybermodeler link): ARC 4002 6" long 1/35th scale whi

  5. Correct engines and propellers for the C-130J would also be nice.
  6. After looking at the images of the kit contents in the on-line reviews I have not seen any mention of the kit containing the Gatling gun as depicted in the box art. Does the Roden AU-23 include the parts for the 20mm Gatling gun?
  7. Legato had box art for a 48th scale PA-48 Enforcer a couple of years ago. Was Legato serious about producing that kit or were they winding us up?
  8. Not sure if this will be of any use to you but Wikipedia does have a full color image of the old TAC insignia at this link: Wikipedia entry for "USAF Tactical Air Command"
  9. The wedding veil material is called Tulle and that is what you need to ask for at any fabric shop. They will take care of you. It is cheap and definitely a better value for your modeling money than anything offered by the model accessory and conversion concessions. This material is available in a variety of colors with the same size mesh pattern.
  10. You should include any propeller from the Corsair in your search for suitable components.
  11. There was a guy over on WHIF forums that was looking for that kit/kits. The only problem is that he is located in the UK. I will send him a PM to let him know about this opportunity and a link to this topic. If he is interested it is up to him to get in contact with you.
  12. You have certainly taken time to do your research and I applaud you for your efforts but do exercise caution when using the information provided in ORDDATA as it is often incorrect. I think the problem with ORDDATA is the lack of knowledge and background in ordnance related technical information and to them a rocket pod is a rocket pod regardless of what the actual nomenclature is. Too often I have encountered the same image being used for several similar items and that can lead to identification issues if you have no other references available to verify what is published in ORDDATA.
  13. Maybe they can boost potential sales by including optional markings for Jimmy Buffet's Albatross...
  14. comment removed since the original link has now been fixed.
  15. Some of you might think that this is but I am posting this again because my original topic seems to have disappeared after one of the data base corruptions brought on by hackers to ARC over the past couple of years. That being said, I am reposting this information as a warning to anyone that may cross paths with montana_matt aka Matt Borlandelli in the future. Mr. Matt Borlandelli aka montana_matt had posted a model for sale, the price seemed to be reasonable and included the cost of postage. I jumped on it and sent a money order to him from my bank. This transaction took place in M
  16. I agree. The only thing that I find irritating about that damned customs declaration is the size of the form. It requires that you write small and for some of us ham-fisted types that can truly be a challenge when are sporting bifocals. Thanks for providing the link. Normally I use that crappy little green form you obtain from the counter at the post office. So filling it out on line certainly makes life easier all around. No excuses now for that "USA only" obstacle.
  17. The description you provide matches up with this kit of the TBD-1 Devastator. Here is an image of the box top from the Modeling Madness kit review of the Monogram TBD-1 Devastator (Image source: modelingmadness.com) I do not recall Monogram ever offering the Dauntless kit in a pre-war color scheme.
  18. It may be possible to use the parts provided in the Hasegawa Weapons Set D for the LANTIRN AAQ-14 Targeting Pod as your DIRCM. The whole forward portion of that pod is separate from the main pod body which makes for less cutting to modify the thing. The only other issue would be on what the optical ports look like on the DIRCM in comparison to the LANTIRN Targeting Pod.
  19. Spanish to English translation courtesy of babelfish says you are correct! Link to the translated pages
  20. Maybe Kinetic HobbyBoss will eventually run out of normal yard darts and bless us with a couple of XL kits... Doooohh! Was thinking Kinetic and typed HobbyBoss...
  21. Definitely not much information available on-line for model kit reviews of the DC-130. Here is an article from Ted Taylor on building the Italeri 1/48th scale DC-130 Hercules Drone Carrier. The only difference between the 1/48th scale Testor's/Italeri DC-130 and the straight C-130A/E kit is the addition of additional parts sprue that provide the DC-130 peculiar parts for the launch pylons, drones, and troop doors. I can tell you that much based on having a both of these kits in protective custody.
  22. Looks like it is in stock at Toys and Hobbys.com Tamiya kit# TAM30027, 1/35th scale US M42 Duster SP AA-Gun for $36.00 plus shipping and handling charges.
