  1. Brilliant A-4C there man - top notch work!
  2. Thanks for the tips on dropped parts Janissary! Will have to try that out!
  3. Thanks again for positive feedback! This build took a bit of a hit due to me dropping the model - of course it hit tile and not the carpet and the tip of the tail broke into several small parts and several of the slat rails broke or cracked :( Anyhoo, I have tried to repair - probably gonna need more work though. For replacement slat-rails I got some fine brass strip - they should hold up well even if it gets dropped again :)
  4. Thanks for the positive feedback and kind comments! I continue to struggle with finger numbness due to treatment - has anyone here a similar condition and found a solution to finding dropping items? I was thinking maybe placing a black sheet or mat under my work area so I could find lighter colored plastic parts - the current beige carpet eats parts like nothing. I do not even bother looking for small parts any more as it is so frustrating - I just vacuum the entire area then dump out the collection cup and sort thru the crap to find the part. This is not terribly enjoyable though.
  5. That is really cool - kudos on bringing to the finish line!
  6. Happy Optivisor user here - mostly just for rigging biplanes but has been handy for painting small details as well
  7. Looks like Gunze SC06 is a dark reddish brown? https://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/guncs612xxx.htm
  8. Wow a Merc - congrats! Got a Volvo here myself - hope it lasts about 20 years (on yr 7 now) - lol till death due us part.... Heya, regarding the A-6 build, any idea what to do about that front landing gear well gaps? I am trying to close up my build of this kit and the front gear well sides just don't seem to fit at all - like they are too narrow? Same on the aftermarket bay from Wolfpack - giant gaps on both sides... I am stuck now trying to figure out a plan to fix but getting dang close to tossing the whole thing and trying to do the HB kit....
  9. some interesting decal tips there guys - thankya!
  10. Very nicely done - man the 25 was a tough mean lookin thing :)
  11. Heya - thank y'all for the kind comments! My chemo hit me with a new side effect of hand/finger numbness so not a lot of modeling going on the last month - dropping stuff left and right - spent more time on the floor looking for parts vs actual building lol. Still managed to get the intake trunks masked - wow what a giant PITA that was - but it mostly worked as in pics below. Trying now to get the resin intakes, cockpit , exhaust tubes and the wolfpack resin front wheel bay all finally glued in and aligned properly - not 100% sure that is going to succeed. Already used my dremel mo
  12. One word - brilliant! Fantastic job there dude!
  13. wow - fantastic Shahak build there - great paint finish! I have never seen one of these in 1/48 and was unaware of the conversion kit - I will have to get one :)
  14. Strange - I have never used Facebook, don't even have an account, but I am able to view the links/pics/comments that AMK is putting up there despite that https://www.facebook.com/avantgardemodelkits/ Also thank you Martin for coming back here to comment! Can you say how far along are the actual moulds for the new F-14? Or is that still a long ways off till those get cut?
  15. Very nice options there! That high viability scheme with the orange striping is probably what got me interested in the aircraft as a kid in the 70s - I want to say there was a really good pic of that a/c in the original Squadron "In Action" book on the Intruder which caught my eye at the hobby shop.
  16. Never understood the huge appeal the 109 has with folks but kudos to them for being blessed with a top notch Tamiya release
  17. wow - that is fantastic! Do you have a build posting that describes how the finish was achieved?
  18. Thankya - I shall give Sincere Hobby a shot...
  19. Looks good - was it still possible to pre-order one of these anywhere?

    Revel 32nd P-51

yeah I would be totally on board with a new accurate F6F. At one time I contemplated trying to meld the Trumpeter kit wing to a hasegawa fuselage to try to overcome the limitations in both of those kits but it just seemed like too much work...
  21. lookin good here - really coming along nice! Regarding super glue and X as a filler, I have been using talc (baby powder) with thick slow set superglue and have had pretty good success with it. Would like to try the dental acrylic but it looks like you need to buy a huge quantity which I am not keen on...
  22. lookin great - really rolling along on progress! I too have gone to using the Eduard pre painted panels - I know they are "flat" and such, but I just feel (in most cases) they look significantly better than what I can paint myself.
  23. Thanks for the kind comments Janne/Peter/Joel! Peter; yeah I had been doing 1/32 but the jet projects just seemed too big and hard to finish for me so I downsized and traded most of my 1/32 jet kit collection for 1/48. Not much progress the last two days - I am in my post chemo sleep mode - I get extreme fatigue right after the treatment ends then spend at least a couple days sleeping - its weird and kinda frustrating to be so dang tired but I guess there are worse possible side effects so I try to remain positive! On the intruder I did tackle the front windscreen - the

Ha yeah I would definitely be on board for a new 1/32 good/accurate but also cheap hellcat. Probably more likely Revell would do a Corsair though :)
