  1. Howdy. Gonna try doing a in progress post for this build. Recently moved back to 1/48 (from 1/32) Jets - traded most of the 1/32 away for 1/48 but this particular kit has been in the back of my stash for years - pretty sure I got it right when released maybe around 2012? Anyway I have a ton of aftermarket for it: Dmold intakes Wolfpack seats and wheel wells Profimodeler pitot Master refueling probe Hypersonic exhausts Eduard various sets and wheels GFactor brass gear (for the Revell kit but it looks maybe more detailed than the Kinetic plas
  2. Yeah - I was thinking USN Squadron but if USMC is included then maybe a Hawks A-6 from Vietnam or Gulf War would be a good option
  3. Yeah I was looking at the active Navy Hornet squadrons but I didnt see any other than VFA-34 that had the Intruder in its history - I will keep lookin though....
  4. Ah - I missed the currently active part also - duh on my part! So I guess a Navy Intruder is out as I think there are no current active squadrons other than Blue Blasters that flew it in their history. No worries thinking a VFA-192 Golden Dragons Skyhawk or Hornet instead....
  5. No worries - I will maybe do a different intruder squadron - I think both VA-52 and VA-145 would qualify for the group build
  6. can the subject kit be "slightly started" already? Like the pit is assembled (all three pieces of it) and base color is shot on the cockpit and seats but no other assembly? Also just to check, would the VF-34 Blue Blasters circa 1996 (A-6E) count as a legacy squadron? It sounds like the squadron started as VF-20 in WW2 and became VF-34 later but wikipedia states "Three distinct US Navy squadrons have been designated VA-34. The first squadron to hold the VA-34 designation was in 1948, this squadron was redesignated VA-35 in 1950. The second VA-34 was established in 1943 and disestab
  7. Heya - I looked thru my Kinetic A-6E and found that I do not have either V sprue. I have had the kit for years - I can't recall if I got it second hand this way or possibly I traded them away already and my old mind just doesnt recall. Oddly I am building that kit now (very slowly) but never really noticed those sprues were missing as I intend to hang harpoons underneath.... 1000 Apologies - I would be willing to pull the MER from a Hobbyboss A-6 kit and could include 12 Eduard snake eyes but I am not sure they are the ones you would want - they are the "late" version of the snakey
  8. I think I have them from the Kinetic A-6E and you can have them if I do - lemme check a little later tonight....
  9. Really fine build there and awesome display!
  10. Totally rocks - love the result you have achieved and the choice of scheme excellent.
  11. I agree for the most part - I would like to know about accuracy issues with a given kit and then I can make a personal decision if that is something I care about and want to fix or if it is a non issue for me. On the other hand, I think where the rivet counters get a bad rep is when there are folks in a thread talking about how happy they are with a new kit and the rivet counter jumps in and basically asserts/implies that the new kit is "garbage" because it has one shape issue or a crease line where there shouldn't be in the rear fuselage or whatever. Typically these folks are very blunt in th
  12. Long shot, but looking for the VA-34 Blue Blaster markings from the decal set "A-6E Intruders Last of the East Coast Squadrons" if anyone has them in their stash and wants to part with them....
  13. Topic title says it all - anyone got a spare of this sheet they want to get rid of? Thankya!
  14. Hate to even ask but what are the issues with the Academy kit? I picked up a couple via trades recently based on several online reviews which were all very positive so it is disappointing to hear such negative feedback...
  15. Yeah, as a kid I think I first really noticed the F-14 from the film Final Countdown - pretty sure I went right out and got a kit of it - just thought it was so cool. A ton of great squadron markings, impressive loadout etc. Sure it didn't get a ton of kills but I guess im good that it never really had to face what it was designed for (basically world war III with the Soviets.) Though regarding kills, how about Iran's F-14s? PS the A-6 is cooler :P
  16. I have had good luck the last month with two orders from them - also near immediate response for some suggestions I made regarding possible future product.
  17. how off is the kit bomber nose?
  18. bummer - thanks - will post in buy/sell as you suggest - thankya!
  19. Heya - does any aftermarket company make a set of CFT / Fast Packs for the 1/48 Hasegawa F-15s? Got a DJ kit with none included, want to make a Baz.... Thanks!
  20. Interested in the entire sheet or partial - need the VA-145 and VA-155 schemes but not the others. Thanks!
  21. I believe I have one in the stash along with some aftermarket for it; do you have any 1/32 stuff for trade? Thanks!
