hi all, was just reading about the 350+ A-10s the USAF is upgrading, but i know there was something like 716 built. Unlike the f-15, 16, 18 etc I've never seen rows of A-10s at AMARC - so what happened to them? Were they scrapped or what? Ta in advance for any info! paul

Hi, I am looking to model P/O Basil Gerald 'Stapme' Stapletons Spitfire MK1, the one that shot down Franz Von Werra during the Battle of Britain. I know he was in 603 sqn, which had XT codes, but I don't know what the individual code letter and serial number is. Could anyone help? Thanks in advance! Paul

Hi all, Am about to start (oh, who am I kidding - I have bought the kit and decals for probable completion about 2015 . . .) Franz Von Werra's 109 from the Battle of Britain. However, all the decal sheet instructions and images in books and internet sites seem to disagree on the following things; 1) white nose? 2) white wing tips? 3) red/white spinner or black/white spinner? I would like to model it in the configuration it was just before it got shot down. Any views would be greatly appreciated. Paul.

Hi all, was reading somewhere that the Swedish AF is going to cut down to just 100 C and D model gripens out of a total buy of 204. I know that some early models (14?) have been updated to C/D standard for Hungary, but were the Czech aircraft similar refurbs as well? More to the point, what are the Swedes going to do with 90 odd surplus Gripens? These are hardly old aircraft, and even tho' they are the a/b model they are still very advanced, with I suspect, low hours. Perhaps the RAF should buy 50 to replace the jaguar wing! Hi all, is it just me or is there a big gap in the market for 1/72 and 1/48th resin conversion sets for SU-27 Flankers? I'm thinking canard conversion sets, different fin variations, refuelling probes, offset IRST windscreens, maybe even an SU-27KUB conversion? It seems odd that such an important aircraft, with a fab range of camo schemes and operating airforces seems to have had so little attention from the add on boys. We can even get the decals for them now (thinking here of Begemots new demo Flanker sheet) so - anybody out there considering doing some? I would love to convert my precio

Hi, have been trying to sort out current numbers of F3s in service with the RAF. Does any one know how many were originally built, how many have crashed, how many are stored, and how many are stored/spares sources/scrapped? The standard number I have read is 165 (inc. 3 prototypes, and 18 F2s (later used to repair some F3's, but I have also read that 173 were built, to include 8 for Oman that were subsequently cancelled by the Omanis but accepted by the RAF. The best I can make out is that about 12 have crashed, 20 + have been scrapped/used as spares/put on display and about 25 'stored', l

Hi all, Does anybody know if RNoAF F-16AMs still carry the penguin missile as part of their inventory? Am building a model of same, and would like to add penguin missiles if possible, but can't find any pictures of F-16AMs carrying them (apart from some old pictures of the first RNoAF F-16AM in a copy of Air Forces Monthly).
