When it comes to "what-if," I always thought it would be fun to do an F-14 in Air Defense Command markings. I recall that the USAF was going to use F-16s as the ADC aircraft to replace F-106s. But if the mission of ADC as to protect the USA from Soviet bombers coming in over the pole, what better aircraft than the F-14 with its long-range Phoenix missiles? An F-14 in the markings of the 87FIS based at the old K I Sawyer AFB would be what I'd do. I'll have to add that to the "list." :-)
