  1. Brad doesn't learn it from Boeing. Boeing learns it from Brad. If Brad does something that doesn't reflect the real thing, then Boeing will correct the real thing on their next Performance Improvement Program. :P/> I've tried to scratch build flaps for a 747 a while ago - still have them here, used thin sheets of styrene. But honestly, I don't think it was worth picking an old Revell B747-100 and have its wings chopped down just to put them on it. Refered to Frank "The OldHooker" guide to flapping down a 747 for the job, plus pictures of Brad's works. I merely measured their length span
  2. That's one great way to do it, Walt. The only thing left for correction in this case would be moving the wing fences to the leading edges of the wing halves - airfix put it on the trailing edges. As for the Authentic Airliners 727, maybe the only problem would be finding one in the market these days - those who have one in their stash are rightfully not willing to part with it! Regards Eduardo
  3. Hi Pep, and welcome to the airliners club. The airfix is a rather nice kit to get started with the airliners, you might find a couple of things to fix or just build it straight out of the box, the nose shape being the one thing that bothers me the most about it. Since you are an already experienced modeler, maybe you wanna consider fixing those minor flaws in the overall shaping. For the wings I would recommend some polished aluminum for the leading edges and some panels, and light grey for the base of it. I like to add slightly different shades of light grey on control surfaces just to add
  4. Love the 57... almost rated on it, course was cancelled 2 weeks before start... :(
  5. Jeff, correct me if I'm wrong, but even the color "Pullman Brown" is a registered trademark of UPS, ain't it? I remember reading something about it when I was researching the subject for this model. regards Eduardo
  6. Found them, a couple pages old in my PBucket library. Hope you like it. Those were home made decals I printed on a white backing paper sheet for the logos and reg numbers. The fuse prints were done with a clear sheet. Corel Draw used. Yellow stripe painted. I promised our friend WaltMertins I'd convert this art for him to 144 scale and never finished the job... Wish I could get my hands on a 144 DC-10 to properly make this for him. The MD-11 kit can be found on 1/200 scale - Hasegawa, beautiful kit! - and 1/144 scale - Welsh Models, nice kit, but Vacform!
  7. Hi K! Give us a picture of the plane you wanna build, if you don't know her name to search for it on the web, maybe you could take a picture of it yourself and upload it for us to help you find out. UPS has a very diverse fleet, however it's a little hard to find decals for their planes as they seem to be very picky as far as using their brand is concerned. Regards Eduardo
  8. I dare to say it's one of the most beautiful airliner models I've seen on ARC in quite a while... if not THE most beautiful! Truly a work of art, great job! Regards Eduardo
  9. Truly inspiring - to say the least!
  10. Great, absolutely great! It's just so hard to find dio's of airliners... Best regards Eduardo
  11. Hi Zac. Yep, you almost missed it! :P It's been out there for a while now, pretty easy to find on evil-bay. Purchased mine from a seller in Hong Kong on a great price, shipping included! Great service, only 3 weeks for the box to come to this side of the planet! Check out this: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.Xhasegawa+787&_nkw=hasegawa+787&_sacat=0&_from=R40 Regards Eduardo
  12. Kurt, is "the best" coming along with an MD-11 version or will it be a -10 only for the moment being?
  13. I'd go for Frank's suggestion. Wouldn't you, by any chance, consider a different scale? Hasegawa has some lovely 1/200 airliners. Regards and welcome to "the liners". Eduardo
