  1. They usually carried them on sta. 2/8. 😉 Jens
  2. I believe there was something about either the strength of the wings or the wiring inside the wings in relation to fitting the AMRAAM, something the block 10s couldn't on stations 1/9. Jens
  3. I am pretty sure our block 10s did not have the ability to mount pods on the intakes. Also, the stabs remained the earlier type. Jens
  4. Not all of them. All of our remaining block 10 (including block 1/5 airframes) F-16s went through MLU too. Jens
  5. I would use unslotted stabs for sure. Also, leave of the small bulges on top of the wing right above the MLG. The seats would have been Mk. 5 seats. Jens
  6. It was only the last 10 (TEN) RF-4Bs that had the bulged wings (all BuNo 1573xx airframes). This has been confirmed many years ago, but the wrong number '12' keeps gettting repeated. Jens
  7. I am pretty sure the pylons you are looking are included in the Cutting Edge F-104S conversion kit. That would be a much better option than the ancient and rough Esci parts. Jens
  8. If you have an pair of leftover afterburners from the Tamiya F-16C block 30/40/50 they will fit the F-14B too. They are very close to having the same diameter. Jens
  9. You are right in stating that only the last TEN (10) RF-4Bs had the thicker/bulged wings. Unfortunately many references mention 12 - probably from the same incorrect source. Jens
  10. The new Kinetic F-16AM really need a new correct fin base. The one in the kit is way too fat - more like a C/D fin base. Jens
  11. Why is it that you add the radome before the windscreen? You seem to have done so on both your F-4Bs. Jens
  12. All our (i.e. Danish) F-16A/Bs got the Mid-Life Update. Some of our F-16s are rather block 50-like now with l/e beer cans, reinforcement plates and HG-like finish. Jens
  13. No, they did not! All our block 1/5/10 airframes retained the smaller stabs. Also, the stab upgrade had nothing to do with MLU. Jens
  14. As for an F-105F (or early F-105G) it is quite easy to remove the ECM bulges from the HB kit. I did that on mine. Jens
  15. I am talking about the chord, not the thickness. Jens
  16. The HB F-105D tail is ok. It's the G tail that needs a leading edge enlargement. Jens
  17. FWIW the exhaust nozzles from the Tamiya F-16C fit the F-14 almost perfectly. Jens
  18. Added to that is the fact that some of the photos appear more than once in the book, and some are photoshopped to look different to previous ones. Jens
  19. The ResKit cockpits look great. What does the canopy profile look like? I have read that is was corrected, but other sources state the canopy has not been changed. Jens
  20. It's kinda hard to tell from your pictures, but that Academy tail fin tip looks more like the C/D tip than the A/B tip. I think it can be corrected with a bit of sanding. Jens
  21. I don't know why you keep going on about FS36622. It's pale grey, almost dirty white, and it's nowhere near FS36231 in which the real cockpits are painted. Your best suggestion has been XF-19 which, although lighter than FS36231, is fairly good for a scale effect cockpit grey. Jens
  22. I am not sure what you are trying to tell me. Also, I'm pretty sure I don't need to know. Fact is, XF-19 is too dark to be similar to FS36622. Jens
  23. Using Vallejo paint charts as a reference is bound to go wrong. Vallejo can't even match their own colours to acceptable real life standards. Jens
  24. XF-19 is nowhere pale enough to be FS36622. Jens
