  2. The "ALQ" designation does not make it similar in any way. The AN/ALQ-131 has a rectangular shape and is different in practically every single way. None of the 'add-on' AN/ALQ pods would be useful. Niels, I can see if I can find a drawing of it. It seems to me I have seen such drawing once, but I will have to check my references. Either way, it should be easy to make it yourself. Jens
  3. Thanks for the heads-up. The interesting thing is that the MENG F-4E has decals for two FY71 airframes, but MENG failed to provide the TISEO. The ARN-101 is there though. Jens
  4. You're right! I believe the issue was that the wings have the reinforcement strap/belly strap, and the TISEO/ARN aircraft are reinforced from within. Isn't that right? Jens
  5. I believe they were AN/ALR-69 pods. The Dutch might have used the same type. Does this help? Jens
  6. Despite Z-M naming it a 'late' F-4E, ít really is more of a mid-F-4E. The kit lacks the TISEO and ARN-101 of late F-4Es, so you have to look for FY67-69 airframes if you want a correct F-4E. The USAFE Phantom sheet should contain some FY68 airframes as they were present in USAFE too. Jens

  9. I believe there was something about either the strength of the wings or the wiring inside the wings in relation to fitting the AMRAAM, something the block 10s couldn't on stations 1/9. Jens
  10. I am pretty sure our block 10s did not have the ability to mount pods on the intakes. Also, the stabs remained the earlier type. Jens
  11. Not all of them. All of our remaining block 10 (including block 1/5 airframes) F-16s went through MLU too. Jens
  12. It was only the last 10 (TEN) RF-4Bs that had the bulged wings (all BuNo 1573xx airframes). This has been confirmed many years ago, but the wrong number '12' keeps gettting repeated. Jens
  13. I am pretty sure the pylons you are looking are included in the Cutting Edge F-104S conversion kit. That would be a much better option than the ancient and rough Esci parts. Jens
  14. If you have an pair of leftover afterburners from the Tamiya F-16C block 30/40/50 they will fit the F-14B too. They are very close to having the same diameter. Jens
  15. You are right in stating that only the last TEN (10) RF-4Bs had the thicker/bulged wings. Unfortunately many references mention 12 - probably from the same incorrect source. Jens
  16. The new Kinetic F-16AM really need a new correct fin base. The one in the kit is way too fat - more like a C/D fin base. Jens
  17. Why is it that you add the radome before the windscreen? You seem to have done so on both your F-4Bs. Jens
  18. All our (i.e. Danish) F-16A/Bs got the Mid-Life Update. Some of our F-16s are rather block 50-like now with l/e beer cans, reinforcement plates and HG-like finish. Jens
  19. No, they did not! All our block 1/5/10 airframes retained the smaller stabs. Also, the stab upgrade had nothing to do with MLU. Jens
  20. As for an F-105F (or early F-105G) it is quite easy to remove the ECM bulges from the HB kit. I did that on mine. Jens

  22. The HB F-105D tail is ok. It's the G tail that needs a leading edge enlargement. Jens
  23. FWIW the exhaust nozzles from the Tamiya F-16C fit the F-14 almost perfectly. Jens
  24. Added to that is the fact that some of the photos appear more than once in the book, and some are photoshopped to look different to previous ones. Jens
