  1. Only the last ten RF-4Bs had the F-4J (bulged) wings - all in the 1573xx BuNo range as Don mentioned. Jens
  2. But that would not be correct for a Sierra, would it? AFAIK only the Romeos have the FLIR mounted this way. Also, the platform would be different (at least if it's a Romeo). Jens
  3. Thank god I only have three of those. ;) Jens
  4. Thanks Kurt. I was pretty sure the Super Fox parts were in the PM release, and that it was the reason I bought it in the first place. Jens
  5. Either it's the standard E/F issue, or it's the Super Fox issue - and I am pretty sure it's the latter. Jens
  6. You don't need the Super Fox update for that kit as all the necessary parts are included in that release. ;) Jens
  7. You know where to find me if you need any help. :) Jens
  8. Very nice representation of 'Valdemar Atterdag'. Are you going to build a real Danish Spitfire too? ;) Jens
  9. The only reason I could see to buy some other stencils for the Academy F-4B would be if some of the larger ones (intake warnings, ejection seat triangles etc.) were of a different type than the ones supplied in the Academy kit. The Academy decals are lovely! I just finished putting Academy stencils on this one: Jens
  10. I understand. It would be a major task this late in the build. Jens
  11. Sorry if this is a bit late but I have just seen the thread now. The rear part of the fin base (kit part?) is way too fat. The A/B models fin base have e thin trailing edge compared to the C/D/N models. Jens
  12. Don't forget to move the landing lights to the front of the nose gear door. ;) Jens
  13. I have just checked a load of BA A-4 pictures (including a larger version of the formation picture in this thread). The two small wing fences on the leading edge slats were removed. I am not sure whether a few of the vortex generators were removed too, but they certainly had most of them. Sorry for the confusion. Jens
  14. Shouldn't some or all of the vortex generators be removed from the BA A-4s? Jens
  15. It looks like it is still missing several small parts e.g. position lights, antennae etc. Jens
  16. Don't expect Cartograf or Superscale quality! Some of the colours have uneven edges, and not all decals might be in register. That said, they are usually better researched than most other (foreign) sheets. Also, make sure to order some squadron badges. They are not included on the main sheet so you will have to buy two sheets to build one model. HTH, Jens
  17. The ejector pin mark is inside the top frame right above the flat part of the windscreen. The gear bay ejector pin marks are in the nose gear well. I am pretty sure it's not a one-off thing. I could go check my other Tamiya Tomcats but it does not change the fact that it is there and visible (once you see it...). Jens
  18. Basic details are one thing, but the ejector pin marks and their placement is another thing. The wheel bays have them (as usual for Tamiya) but there is also one on the inside of the windscreen, and it extends to the clear area. WTF was Tamiya thinking?!? >:( Jens
  19. If you think the cockpit lacks 3D effect why on earth would you want to add flat Eduard parts to it? :D Add some details yourself. It would look great and would probably be less work than trying to fit a resin pit. Jens
  20. I believe our (Danish) Block 10 airframes are the only EPAF ones to retain the earlier, smaller stabs. Jens
  21. This article describes the differences between the F-16A/B and the F-16AM/BM: F-16 MLU Jens
  22. Thanks for the replies, especially yours Brian. It seems that my modification of the Tamiya wheels with Hasegawa wheel hubs led me exactly...back at where I started. :D Jens
  23. I have eight Tamiya F-14s so it's not so much a question of the specific aircraft, it's a more general question. :) Jens
  24. I need your help. I remember a thread about the three different styles of Tomcat main wheels but I cannot locate it despite having searched through all F-14 threads since last fall. Last weekend I tried modifying a set of Tamiya main wheels with half of the white metal hubs from a Hasegawa F-14, but now I have my doubts as to whether or not I used the correct wheel hubs. Can someone help me out here? Thanks in advance, Jens
