  1. My second entry in this GB will be the new Tanmodel 1/48 RF-84F Thunderflash. This is the initial release of the kit, but I might use the decals from the second release for this model. After all, it does include decals for a Danish RF-84F, and the same decals can be used for the same airframe in the NATO camoflage scheme. This is my progress so far: Progress is going smoothly, although the camera setup is a bit tricky. It's the first time I have seen such a complete camera suite in a scale model though. Jens
  2. What??? No RF-84F??? I guess I will have to enter with the new Tanmodel 1/48th scale RF-84F then, if it is ok that I have started building it. Yay or nay? Jens
  3. Right, let's have some pictures. This is the current state of my S35E: As you can see I painted the green interior in 2010, so I guess the paint is hardened by now. :D/>/> I scratchbuilt a box-like camera pack from Evergreen with golden lenses. I have noticed that the Draken cameras appear to have had a yellow filter in front, and these golden lenses give just that appearance. The Hasegawa Drakens are great builds with few parts, nice details and good fit, so I figure I will have most of the model assembled within a not to distant future. Jens
  4. Thanks Martin. While looking for some other Draken parts I found an older Hasegawa Draken where I had already painted the cockpit (I even painted the year inside the fuselage...2010), so I decided to use that one instead. Same kit, different decals. Yesterday I scratchbuilt something that resembles cameras; two for the wing roots and one for the nose. I will post pictures of those later. I also tried a new approach to the fuselage/wing assembly: glueing the outer wing parts to their respective fuselage parts. This might help with the fit on the large wing surfaces. Not that it has been a re
  5. Thanks Calum. It seems it does a pretty good job, even on small masks. I guess it's time to invest in a cutter. :) You Jag looks great. I can't wait to see it finished. Jens
  6. Very nice Calum! What kind of cutter do you have? Jens
  7. It isn't. You just have to dry-fit the parts before glueing. Also, if you assemble to port and starboard side completely before joining the fuselage halves it makes the sanding a lot easier. Jens
  8. Thanks Darwin. :) If I can't decide on the colour scheme I will just build both of them. Jens
  9. Hi all, For this group build I will see if I can finish this Hasegawa 1/48 Draken. I have yet to decide on the markings (I'm thinking of a natural metal S35E with late canopy and in clean condition, or a camoflaged S35E with the earlier canopy and four fuel tanks), and I will most likely only use limited amounts of aftermarket parts. For reference pictures I will start off with the ones on my website: My Draken pictures Jens
  10. I would like to join this group build with a Hasegawa 1/48th scale S35E Draken. I will probably scratchbuilt some cameras and replace the ejection seat with a resin version. Also, I have yet to decide on the colour scheme. Jens
  11. There used to be one, either here or on Z5. Don't remember which forum, and I think it has been removed. Too bad as I remember it as having lots of useful information. Jens
  12. She could have brought home a suitcase full of Hasegawa Phantoms. ;) Jens
  13. I have started selling some of my many 1/72nd scale Hasegawa Phantoms, but only in Denmark as postage from here is ridiculous. Another way to go could be using the Hasegawa F-4J as a base and the add the Esci/Ertl F-4C donkey dick. That only gives you an F-4C though, but I guess the modification to a D is pretty easy from there. I always found the F-4B/N to be the most difficult kit to find with the F-4D coming at a close second. Now I have plenty of both. Jens
  14. The ejection handles are not attached that way on the real ones. This pictures shows the real ones: MB Mk. H7 Jens
  15. I hope foreign Seahawks are ok to post here. Earlier this year we (723 Sqn, RDAF) took delivery of the first three MH-60R Seahawks. The remaining six airframes are scheduled to be delivered during the next 1½ years or so. The MH-60R will replace our Lynx Mk. 90Bs, and retirement of the latter has already begun. More pictures can be found here: Danish MH-60R Seahawks Jens
  16. If by the second set you mean the Swedish wheels, then yes. They are identical to the type in the standard Hasegawa set. The Brassin wheels specified for the Danish Drakens are correct. This is what the Danish wheels look like: Draken landing gear pictures Jens
  17. Neither Hasegawa or Eduard have made a 'complete' Danish Draken in any of their kits. Hasegawa pros: - Fuel tanks of correct size - Late RHAW and chaff/flare modifications - Late type camera nose - Arresting hook with chaff/flare dispensers on either side - Fairly good Danish decals Hasegawa cons: - Incorrect wheels - Incorrect/lack of pylons - No early configuration option - No F-35 option (only RF-35), i.e. WDNS nose Eduard pros: - Correct Danish wheels - Early configuration without RHAW - Arresting hook without chaff/flare dispenser on either side - Fairly good early type Da
  18. Unfortunately not, Andrew. I just checked the forum settings. However, I know some browsers have translation enabled (that's how I read Czech forums). Jens
  19. You might be able to find some help on this Danish modelling forum: http://www.danskemodelbyggere.dk/ Vingtor Decals might be a good start though. Jens
  20. You must be thinking of the Iranians. They use a MB Mk. 7 seat. Jens
  21. The decals are not quite correct in the Airfix kit. The sqn badge colours are wrong, and the font is slightly off. There are several pictures on my website: Lynx pictures Yet, along with the Belcher Bits decals (from the resin kit) they are the only game in town, and they are useful despite the errors. The picture of Mk. 90 S-256 (ex-Argentinian) is from before it was fitted with all four bags in the floatation gear. Jens
  22. There was only one Danish C-47 fitted with skis - K-687 - and only on one deployment up north. Jens
  23. Vietnam War, although a couple of A-6Es were modified too. I'm not sure how much the pod was used after the war. Jens
