Thanks for the help! Larry, I have now ordered the book (but I managed to find at least some of the pages online so I have copied those pictures for reference until the book arrives). Metroman, I have seen your build already - and what a beauty it is - but you don't show the pylon to pod attachment. Teasing like that is not nice. ;) Jens

I am currently working on the first of my HB 1/48 A-6 Intruders. I want to finish it as one of the few Pave Knife pod equipped airframes. However, it appears from the few photographs I have found that the pod is closer to the fuselage and less nose-down than it would be if fitted to the standard centreline pylon. So, do any of you have any information on how the AVQ-10 Pave Knife pod was fitted to the A-6 - or even better, pictures showing the pod-to-pylon interface? TIA, Jens

It depends on the conditions of the sale. New aircraft are delivered in the scheme ordered by the customer. Second-hand airframes are either overhauled and repainted before shipment/ferry flight, or they are delivered as-is. An example of the latter are the ex-USN A-4s and ex-USAF F-4Es delivered to the IDF/AF during the Yom Kippur War. Interestingly the A-4s were repainted in the Israeli colour scheme before entering service, while the F-4Es retained their SEA scheme. Some of the ex-USAF F-16s were received here in Denmark retained their USAF colour schemes (one or two being in the two-ton

You will need the longer version of the antennaes. The F-4J/S used a shorter version. Just make sure you don't mount them upside down like on some of the models above. ;) Jens

I have loads of the Hasegawa F-4G, some of which I am selling. Unfortunately the postage from Denmark is pretty steep so it probably isn't interesting. Jens

I have several of those for sale. However, postage to the US would probably be too expensive. Jens

The mould line were there, but there were no "dimples" on the ailerons. It did have some strange small black spots - like tiny pieces of charcoal - a couple of places on the fuselage. No biggie though as they can't be seen after a coat of paint. This is what mine looks like now: Jens

I didn't have the fit problems you have encountered. The fit was very good on my kit, and I only used a very small amount of Tamiya Surface Primer to fill minor gaps and scratches. This is indeed a fine kit. Jens

The colours of the Danish F-16s are (and have always been) light grey FS26373, medium grey FS26270 and dark grey FS26132 (as opposed to FS26118 on US aircraft). Generally the scheme follows the colour demarcations on the standard US scheme. However, the horizontal stabilisers and ventral fins can vary in colour, both occasionally seen in light grey on both sides. Also, there were 3-4 F-16s in RDAF service in the now standard two-colour US F-16 scheme. The radome is dark gull grey FS26231 after some time in service. Jens

Yet they keep designating the AMs and BMs as Black 20 aircraft. Jens

Another plus with the Trumpeter kit is that it doesn't have the ejector marks in the cockpit and wheel bays unlike the Monogram kit. Jens
-
Well, except I believe the F-16AM/BM is called block 20 on that site. Apart from that there is a lot of good information there. Jens

From here it looks like white undersurfaces. Jens

You're right, Gregg. Jens

Upon checking all the adversary A-4E/F pictures I have, I have now found two A-4E/Fs without IFR probe (unless it's the same airframe). This is one of them: Unfortunately I am not at liberty to show the other picture as I don't have permission from the photographer to do so. Jens
-
I never noticed that #53 was missing its IFR probe, but I have now found a picture on my computer that confirms it. It would be interesting to know the reason why. Jens
-
All A-4E/Fs had refuelling probes. Jens

What kind of info are you looking for? Jens

I have noticed several HUGE banners/signature pictures lately. I find it really annoying that some people use the signature area as a model showroom with full-size pictures. Jens

It's a retired airframe. Jens

I believe all Spanish F-104s had the C-2 seats. Only Denmark, Germany, Italy (and thereby Greece, Turkey and Taiwan) used the MB seat. Jens

Diego, are the colour profiles available in a higher resolution somewhere? I find them much better than the b/w instructions included in the decal set. Jens

The spray cans used for touching up the paint on the GSE contained olive drab FS34087. HTH, Jens

Thanks Xavi. :) Jens

The last one for now is this plain USMC Mike. I am not satisfied with the mis-coloured TwoBobs decals. Also, the painting instructions are incorrect, so I used the correct colours instead (FS16495, FS16375 and FS16320). A-4M BuNo 160027 WE 8 TwoBobs decals, Xtracolor paints Jens
