  1. Yes Dutch, four props are included and the Argus will include 3 bladed props. I finally made them square tipped because you can convert square to round tips, but not vice versa. The DC-7 & 7B conversion packs were delivered to Hannants today, together with more DC-7C conversion sets. The first batch sold out in 72 hours.
  2. Update The DC-7 conversions should be released by the end of February 2019 and will be available from Hannants.
  3. Hi Dutch, That is a master for the engine core and was produced using stereolithography. This is the engine graphic from the assembly instructions and shows the option of open or closed gills.
  4. An update is long overdue, so here goes: If everything goes to plan, the Douglas conversions should be available in February and the Canadair conversions nominally a month later. I am also considering a supplementary set for the Argus, to give open weapons bays. As an aside, decal sets for the A model Dove plus Meteor BVRAAM in 1:72 and 1:48 versions at Hannants by the weekend. The photo shows the engine core for the Wright turbo cyclone engines for the DC- and Canadair Argus. I did it this way to simplify painting.
  5. I have designed this as a light amusement - with a shape like that you have to smile! Here are two CAD screenshots: And the box art: Enjoy!!!
  6. UPDATE - 1 December 2018 The CAD files were dispatched yesterday and I should have all the DC-7 masters next week,
  7. PM me your email address and we will arrange things.
  8. The only reason the 310 series came into being is because I knew the Cessna agents in Rhodesia. I spent all my school holidays in their hangar and was flying in something every two or three weeks during my high school years. Would a laser printed set of U-3A decals help? Incidentally, the parts for the 310F, U-3B, and 310G are being delivered tomorrow This ends the 310 series.
  9. 1 - I never give anticipated release dates because it then becomes a deadline and takes much of the pleasure out of the design process. If you rush things you also make mistakes. 2 - There is much more to the 310 family of kits than A & B - these are currently available on the Hannants web site: Cessna 310 A/B https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RR7203002 Cessna 310D https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RR7203004 Cessna U-3A https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RR7203007 I intend sending
  10. I don't know anything about the Execuform vacform kit. Our conversion is specifically for the Mach 2 Britannia, so cannot comment - sorry Dutch. For the record, there are two families of conversions developing side by side (not to mention Dove, Cessna 310 variants and decals). The first one to appear will probably be the Yukon - this is the only one not using transparent resin parts. It was the 3350 Turbo Compound engines which were the link between the two lots of conversions.
  11. Hannants have more Britannia kits on order - you can back order if you wish. Decals are low on the priority list at present !
  12. No, the sets will not include decals, but laser printed decals will be available separately in the TWL range from Hannants (TWL = Transport Wings Livery). Three reasons: 1 - The conversion will be complicated, and therefore costly, so the modeller can "spread the financial load" 2 - The two products require completely different packaging. 3 - We stopped putting decals in with kits years ago and produced a range of markings so the modeller can have a choice..
  13. Members 43 98 posts Gender:Male Report post #15 Posted 8 hours ago (edited) We are going to be busy, because there are two 'families' of conversions being developed concurrently, the Canadair series for the Mach 2 Britannia together with the DC-7 family for the Heller DC-6. To summarize the complete series, they are: CANADAIR TWC72029 . . . . . . . . . . CC-107 Yukon conversion - Tyne engines
  14. I have found a lot of info on the Swedish Coast Guard CASA 212-300 - looks a good possibility.
  15. I have now finalised prices for the Cessna 310 kits and they are on the Hannants web site. One of the decal sheets had an error in printing and I am just waiting for the replacements - current expectations are that they will be available from Hannants at the start of January 2017.
  16. Yes from Hannants. These will be the first of our kits to include window painting masks.
  17. Can you tell me any details of the markings? There is a contacts page on our web site at http://www.aim72.co.uk/page142.html Neil
  18. Thanks for enlightening me.
  19. Please explain the red lines?
  20. If we do, it would come with decals for Rhodesia United Air Carriers - the Baron 58 I flew in! Not impossible, but will need to see what sales of the 310 are like first. The 310 kits should be with Hannants before Christmas. There is a 1:48 CASA 212 in the pipeline as well.
  21. AIM will be releasing new multi-media kits of the Cessna 310 A & B and the USAF U-3A variant in December 2016. These will also be our first kits released in 1:48 scale. For more details please visit our website page at http://www.aim72.co.uk/page182.html Neil Gaunt

    New models

A very belated reply. There is a very simple reason - the cost of masters and tooling would exceed realistic sales. We are not doing any more 1:144 for thew same reason. 72 and 48 are the scales which have proved viabled over the last six years. NG
  23. Again in response to requests we have produced a kit of this medium tractor. Design and instructions are completed and now we wait for manufacture of the masters plus the etched brass. For more details please see this web page - http://www.aim72.co.uk/page164.html
