I'm back!!! Great job on the build....I have to start my stuff up on Monday. I really can not wait to see this build to the end. Jake -
Avus, you can make your own or choose the ones already made, it is up to you. Well I leave the start of this GB to marine4 ever(Dan) as I am leaving today and will not be back till June 7th. I am kinda nervus about being on a boat in the middle of the ocean for a week so wish me luck! Thanks all, Jake

Thanks for the great feedback! It sounds like this will make an OK UH-1N(Vietnam era) with some TLC and a few other goodies. Thanks, Jake Now if I can find some decals.......
-
Thanks Gino, BY chance do you know what kind of markings the 20th SOS carried back in Vietnam? Jake P.S. Why would the nose that the panda/dragon uh-1n comes with be wrong for a modern marine huey?

No, I was sure to tell them why. To me, it was bad enough to back out but not to tell them why and just not answer them, oh no! Thanks smithery, just wanted to keep myself in-check. Jake

Here are some of the pics that show the little pipe thing pretty good. One pic I got off the ARC-Brock took the picture. Another is from a Northspin website and I am not sure where I found the other pics...... Oh, and I tak back everything I said, I will eat my own words on this one. If you look close enough the little pipe does NOT touch the body of the aircraft anywhere.....I could have sworn I read on another site that they did and I could have sworn that the pics showed it touch the aircraft. Again, I EAT MY OWN WORDS!!! Oh, and andy, the pics do exist. <_< They are just not what I t

I am happy to hear it will make a good Vietnam kit! I just have to find more information on the 20th SOS and their birds. I would LOVE to get some decals for a 20th bird. Thanks, Jake

Joseph Osborn has killer AH-1G decals in every scale(-1/35). just search under google-fireball modelworks. HTH Jake

Right now there are no after market decals out. I have not heard of any being made either. I had the same problem as you, I was going to build a 1/48th bird but there were no decals. HTH some Jake

For some reason, the last few week when I went to buy a kit from other ARC'ers I got cold feet. I have no clue why, either.......Part of it is the need of gas money or any number of other things. I just can't figure out why am being like this. When I say I will buy something I buy it, end of story. It just has not been this way for a couple of weeks now. Have any of you guys ever had this happen? TO ALL WHO KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT-SORRY, I MEAN IT!!! Jake

Probably a dumb question but can the "new" Dragon UH-1N be built into a Viet Nam era Huey? I don't think that there are decals avalible but I could be wrong? Jake

Any Helicopter guys going to the Nats?
X-RAY replied to Cobrahistorian's topic in Helicopter Modeling
I wish I could go but I have to go to Bimini I can't wait to go but I hope all the ARC'ers do well and that you do well with your HH-3E!!! Good luck guys! Jake -
The pics that I have look like the pipe is attatched to the aircraft in front of the fuel tank and/or to the fuel tank. In fact I am almost certain that they do. Jake

Check out the new GB banner guys!!! Jake

Hey Brock, Happy to have you aboard! Love to see some of the models you pump out!!! Marine4ever and I will be the mods. Jake

Sorry I did not see this sooner. I can't say any different about you! The money order came in just days after he said he wanted the kit!!! Would deal with Jed any day. Hope to do business with again. Jake

Right click and save. Then you add it to you photobucket and/or any other image hosting site and add it as your signature here under ARC. I am sure some of our other computer guru's can give you better advice on how to do so. Jake

I think with all the wise guys we have that are going to be in this GB we need to have a sperate thread just for jokes! I know for a fact that I will be building the Italeri MH-47E(Robert's Ridge memorial), Dragon UH-1D(Finally found it!!!), and with luck a couple AH-64's!!! Jake
-
Hey Andy, They are there, you just have to look close on some pictures. They connect to the aircraft just RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE FUEL TANKS. If I can find a good pick I will send you one.... HTH Jake
-
Jaydar, welcome aboard! No need to swear, I'll believe just about any good ol' ARC'er! Can't wait to see an AH-64D!!! Jake
-
Ummm...................What to day what to day?!? That is THE closest thing to an MH-47G or any chinook(1/72) in all my years of modeling(4-5). That is wicked crazy sweet man!!!! I really hop you will enter that in a modeling contest. If you do, you better put it in a case or I will come and take it!!!Just kidding..... Jake
