  1. Decent enough. The cockpit isn't bad but the seats are very bland. I needed a small amount of putty on the wing/fuselage joins. The landing gear is very skinny, mine hasn't broken yet, but i can see how they could shear easily. There are some good after market stuff out there for the Weasel: Gun Bay, Cockpit, Flaps/Slats/Rudder and metal gear. Lots of good decals as well. I would definately get one if they are going for cheap....especially considering Revell of Germany is doing a remake. nick
  2. I've tried all my usual hiding places, but no joy. If anyone has a lead on these please let me know. Looking to build a line up of a/c that one of my grandfathers flew in. All I need next is for some VA-22 FJ-4 Fury decals....but that may take awhile. nick
  3. Does anyone have a recommendation for which aftermarket cockpit upgrade to use for the 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18C? Would a cockpit for Hasegawa or Revell-Monogram fit better? Thanks for any input. nick
  4. Thanks for all the input. I think I'll save myself some frustration and putty and drop a little extra money on the Hasegawa solution. nick
  5. I'm looking to build a 1/48 A-4B using Super Scale VA-22 decals. Right now my choices are: a. Hasegawa A-4B = $44 b. Hobby Craft Falklands A-4B = $30 c. Hasegawa A-4C w/ MAW A-4B conv. = $39 d. Hobby Craft A-4C w/ MAW conv = $35 This one will probably be built canopy down. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone made one of these kits and would recommend one over the other. I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck. thanks nick
  6. So I know about C-130s, F-111s, B-25s, and now U-2s, but what are some other planes that have cat/trapped on a carrier that you wouldn't think could?
  7. Testors make a pretty good acrylic dull clear coat. You can by it in spray cans or bottles for painting or airbrushing. I just use Future for gloss. I'll be a turd of the string and point out that a RAG jet would probally never have a load out like that, but they a the dirty birds of the fleet. I'm just getting decent at panel washing....I think it makes any weathering you do look better. nick
  8. Oh well, is that standard for all GBs? I think I might try my hand at the PACAIR 2 GB. I'll keep that in mind for that one. thanks for the heads up....
  9. I didn't think about taking any. Besides, who wants to see pictures of a grown man crying with his fingers super glued together? nick
  10. Monogram F-105G. I posted some more pics under the forum topic. nick
  11. This is my submission for the Iron Hand GB. An old monogram F-105G from ebay. This one is all out of the box with the exception of Aeromaster Lead Slead decals. This one is a practice run for another F-105G with a bunch of aftermarket stuff. The model turned out alright and I'm not terribly displeased with the base. Lots of firsts on this one for me. Took about 3 months of off and on work. In addition to improving my building techniques, I obviously need to work on my photo skills as well. Hope ya'll enjoy. Nick
  12. I just saw this GB, which is sweet since i'm 95% done with an old F-105G 561st TFS. I guess i'm in if i can finish it up. Can i do a GB and post it to regular ARC gallaries? nick
  13. Prowlers and NSAWC Viper nick
  14. and now some from CQ nick
  15. Here are some pics from my weps det in el centro last year...at least the div form part went well... nick
  16. No, the symbol is just for show. LSOs can tell the difference via lights on the nose gear, at least between hornets and rhinos.
  17. Since I am new at posts here, how do you attach a picture to the post without using photobook? I tried cut and paste, but it no worky. I have a plethora of prowler pics with some random Fallon/Nellis/CV pics I would like to posts. Any help?
  18. Here is an airborne pic of the shocker on its was to whidbey. There should be some good pics of NJ 550 (Growler) with a full loadout (HARM/AMRAAM/Pods) out on the web soon. nick http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk207/n...F08-2099-13.jpg
  19. Can I clean my aztec nozzles and paint cups in any lacquer/enamel thinner? Has anyone done this and had problems? Also, do I have to use MM airbrush thinners or can I use other (cheaper/greater quantity) paint thinners? I've had a 3000S for about 7 years, and have used it off and on, with continuous clogging and splatter problems (even with a compressor moisture trap and pressure regulator). I use about 15-25 psi. Is this correct? Anybody have tips/preferrences on a different airbrush?
  20. I'm looking for 1/72 or 1/48 VA-23 (A-4E/F) and/or VA-42 (A-6A or E) decals. Pls PM or email nmollenhauer@hotmail.com thanks
