  7. Due to need repairs on my household A/C system I have decided to move forward with plans to thin out my model collection bit. These kits have been openned but poly bags are still sealed. I always open new kits to be sure they are intact and in good shape. This is a revised posting for some of you so please note some prices have been lowered. No prices are carved in stone and will consider REASONABLE offers. I will offer discounts on multiple purchases, shipping is not included. I need to move these quickly if possible, things are getting hot here in the south. 1/72 Aca

Can anyone help me find pics/plans for the NOAA version of this aircraft? I am looking into converting the Hase. P3-C 1/72 version into this plane.
  9. I am on a mission for commissions and need all of the help I can get. I am getting no responses from any of my forum postings. The last two got right to making the deposit and they backed out. What need is for you to do is put the word out that I am looking commissions any side or type. I use my commissions to pay for my hobby stuff and catch up the odd bill. Right now I am trying to cover Amber’s medical bills and pay her upcoming surgical expenses. Thanks for any help in advance. My “model building†resume is included below. I have been in this hobby close to 35 years no
  10. Wow a lot of folks looking up last night. Here is the view from south east US. http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/law0941/supermoon/
  11. Simply put the age of the average model builder is increasing. With age eyesight goes down hill. So, now you see lot more 1/32. That and a lot more nice 1/32 kits are avail. I am still managing to do 1/72 but i am having to use a magnifying visor more for detail.
  12. This is one of the reasons I build most of my aircraft in flight.
  13. I live in North Carolina, USA plenty of then here in the hazy humid south.
  14. I have never thinned Future either. I use a Paasche H with a medium head and a pressure at 25psi. I have never had a problem with this.
  15. What I hate worst is ending the project BEFORE we had a replacement. Now we have to depend on the Russians for transport and their "official" record is as bad as ours.
  16. Currently I have both scales. As far as the ships scale go it really does take a trained eye to notice a difference. There are some carriers you cannot get in 1/700, the Enterprise comes to mind. Revell Germany and Ital. seems to be sticking to 1/720 even though 1/700 is more common, I cannot tell you why. The real catch is in aircraft, don't mix 1/720 with 1/700 on the same deck it will look strange. I normally get the 1/700 scale aircraft from Pit Road and Trumpeter. Just worked the figures. The same class carrier in 1/700 scale is going to be appx. 1/2in. longer than its 1/720 coun
  17. In your dreams Jerry, in your dreams
  18. OK I would suggest figures in the 54 to 90mm (1/32-1/18) scale to start with and I like Andera and Sol figure for their detail. You should be able to get these through any good hobby mail-order. I like acrylic paints for figure work, a lot prefer oils, but acrylics are easier to clean up from and easily washed off for the beginner.
  19. Where to start depends on scale and era, I can give you a few suggestions if you can pass that along.
  20. Great job, keep encouraging her. This is the latest my wife did. She has been at it 5 yrs now. She decided if you can't beat them join them.

  22. Hi All, A post to get to know ya,ll. I have been lurking about for some time now and decided to jump into the fray. I am a frequent poster on Starship Modeler because my main interest is sci/fi. I also build 1/72 modern air, 1/72 modern armor, 1/700 modern ships, notice a theme here. I will also build the occasional auto subject. In real life I worked 8 yrs. in a local utility model shop then moved into computer aided modeling. After being "right sized" out of that job I started working at a local hobby shop, spent 5 years there. Moved to another job, got hurt now disabled. Now

  24. In a word YES, what is worse is that most of the trek kits are worse. Only thing was until FM came alonge they where the only game in town. A little work and a lot of patience they build up ok.
