  1. I'm in need of some pilots for my future projects. Since the models will be built "in flight" the figures need to be seated in flight gear. My projects will be: Bf-109E Fw-190A-5 F-6F-3 P-47D P-51D The P-47 and P-51 kits are from Tamiya, and the kit pilots are not useable for my needs. (arms moulded to the legs, not the aircraft controls) I have many modern weapons in both 1:72 and 1:48 for trade, or cash. Thanks and Cheers -Chris
  2. Very nice build. How is the fit of the parts? I see very little or no filler on your build.
  3. Looks real good Brian. Cant wait to see the profiles. Also like that you give the builder the option of a full color fuselage stripe or the gold only to go over their choice of blue.
  4. Excellent thread, it should be pinned.
  5. Go for option "D" Add the pilot figure and put the stck in the hand of the tiny plastic ace.
  6. I have a couple pics that might do you some good. Not sure of the exact years they were used.
  7. OK, this is going to sound a bit out there, but bear with me. A couple of years ago a saw a program on the History Channel (considering the source i have some doubts now but it seemed really plausible), that stated the Japan actually TESTED an atomic bomb off the coast of Korea. This occurred between the cease-fire and the signing of the Japanese surrender on Sep 2nd 1945. This program went into great detail about the men involved in the development programs, there were more than one group of scientists. The army and navy each had their own competing projects with the aim to manufacture atom
  8. I'm in with a Tamiya P-47M. Will build it as a Mass. ANG P-47N. Just don't give me a bunch of crap for not actually converting it to a -N.
  9. Glad the decals arrived safe and sound. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Cheers :D -Chris
  10. I work with a former plane captian of VMFA-333 from the mid 80's. He tells me that ALL aircraft were Super J's WITH slats. Hope that helps you guys.
  11. John, I've spent many days on Rt 130 watching the 15's land at Otis. More often than not, the pilots extended the speedbrake on approach.
  12. Here we go guys. My first WIP on ARC. Sorry for the poor picture quality, still trying to figure out the digital camera. The pilot. Too bad the patches won't be seen once the canopy is attached. The instrument panel. Simple paint job, flat blacki nstruments, drybrushed with light ghost gray. I used clear green over silver for the radar scope. The gear doors are closed. The doors had to be heavily modified to fit, even then it's not that good. The rear panel for the front gear was a few milimeters too short for the opening, so I made one with sheet styrine. Lots of work ahead here.
  13. Heres a good tip for using rattle cans, submurge the can in hot water for 5 minutes before spraying. The paint thins itself and covers better this way. As long as you dont lay on the paint too heavy, you'll have a great finish.
  14. I have that sheet, and no plans to use it. Maybe we could trade if you have a sheet that I'd like. Do you have any sheets for 1/72 Tomcats, or 1/48 Skyhawk adversaries?
  15. Maybe instead of the dual chinpod, you could have two smaller ones on either side of the nose. Similar to the ground attack versions of the Tornado.
  16. PM on the Fujimi (Kit #35116) F-14D Super Tomcat (Open Box, Sealed Inside) Thanks!
  17. You need to connect the sidewinder rail to part F17. Then that assembly is attached to any pylon using sway braces, parts F1
  18. I vote for leaving it be. The color to me doesn't seem that far off, about 80% match. If you do anything, darken the skunk stripe just a touch. I for one like the fuselage band.
