  1. "Kick the tires and Light the fires, lets get this show on the road boys!"
  2. In that case i cant wait to see how they manage to put a heatseeker in there. It must be a stroke of engineering genius
  3. Can't they be simply structural fairings? Or something as prosaic as actuators for flaps or somesuch thing? I have no way to tell if one explanation is more likely than the other, but the plane lovers version of Ockhams Razor suggests that the more exotic explanations are far less likely than the simpler ones. In order of less likely to more: Plasma stealth Sensors Missiles Aerodynamic feature Structural fairing If it is an aerodynamic feature, its function is obviously not a vortex generator, as is argued above. Couldnt they do something akin to what wing fences used to do on 50s era
  4. You know, and im sorry that this doesnt have jack **** to do with PAK FA, but won't the sidewinders motor completely blast the raptors innards and flank skin to smithereens if its fired from the position in that picture? Whats up with that? and on a side note, i really like the more lighthearted tone this forum keeps in these matters as opposed to the /other/ one ;-)
  5. Is italeri the only manufacturer that has a 1/72 platypus out?
  6. I shure did! thanks a lot sir!
  7. There were some pretty funky variants of the bronco, adding gun turrets, flir turrets etc. Are there any pictures of those floating around? Also, on the first page of this thread, there's a pic of a bronco lacking the side sponsoons with the guns in 'em. What's up with that? The close up details of the white bronco in the park show some detail of the gun mounts. Were those flexible in elevation, or are those holes so big to account for fixed elevation changes (like change it on the ground)?
  8. very nice, thanks a bunch! that golden eagle shure is a nice lookin bird. what is the round dome covered with red plastic on that eagle? right above the nav pod under the intake.

I believe this was done to make it easy to distinguish cruise missile carriers from regular bombers on satelite imagery. This was done in accordance with the SALT arms reduction treaty.
