  1. Happy to be of help. I also forgot to add the link to this reference on the Nord: http://www.angelfire.com/blog2/pics10/N.2501_IS.htm
  2. The Fisher Library in Israel is currently collecting and digitizing all references on the IDF/AF for the purpose of making them available on the internet for free. You can find their work here: http://www.fisherlibrary.org.il/Page.asp?CatID=2716 . Most of the references are in Hebrew, but a few, like Yoav Efrati's excellent Color & Markings of the Israeli Air Force, are in English. This is an invaluable resource and you may find what you need by following the link. Anyway, the Nords were delivered in NMF and then camouflaged in Brown (RAL8008), Blue (RAL5008) and Gray (RAL7044) just be
  3. I can't say I am a very avid video gamer, but, they just announced the third installment of my favorite game series: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the best, and most enjoyable, video game I've ever played, with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune a close second. There are going to be some desert locations this time. Really looking forward to this, already preordered. http://www.amazon.com/Uncharted-3-Drakes-D...i=uncharted%203
  4. What, no Billy Wilder? What about the hilarious Some Like it Hot? I'd also highly recommend One,Two, Three, with a terrific performance by James Cagney. Also, Bob Hope's first two movies as a leading man deserve mention: The Cat and the Canary and The Ghostbreakers.
  5. Jon, I have an old half-built 1/48 Hasegawa P-47 that is just collecting dust. I managed to score several Tamiya P-47's from Hobby Lobby during their half price sales, so, the Hasegawa kit's chances of being finished are between slim and none. I would be willing to part it out. Send me a PM with your address and all of the parts you need and I will mail them to you.
  6. Yes, AIM-9B's were fitted on A-4's during the '73 war. After that war, Shafrir II's were fitted and by the 1982 war in Lebanon it was common to see A-4's carrying AIM-9D's Typically, an IDF/AF A-4 would carry one Sidewinder/Shafrir on the outer pylon under the left wing.

    P-38 J/L

Jeff, my research indicates that the wheel wells and wheel struts of NMF P-38's were painted Neutral Gray, although Detail and Scale's book (Part 2) on the P-38 says Green Chromate primer. Color photos from WWII, like in the Bodie book (page 157), seem to support Neutral Gray.
  8. Take a look at Wings of Prey ( http://www.airwargame.com ). This game has the reputation of currently having the best graphics and works well on an average capability PC.
  9. Try searching this site: http://www.straggleresearch.com . It is a site run by Nic Millman dedicated to the colors and markings of Japanese aircraft. I know there was a discussion of the greens used on Zeros; complete with color chips from artifacts, FS and Munsell references. It is not the easiest site to find information on, but I know what you are looking for is there.
  10. The provision to carry rockets was added to Hellcat BuNo. 42185 (the 3,451st F6F-3) and all subsequent Hellcats. This capability required not only mountings for the stubs but also other changes to the wing; an inspection hatch on the wing behind the stubs was sealed, and a metal plate was added to the flaps.
  11. I do. It is one of my favorite PS3 games. What would you like to know?
  12. This thread should help: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....l=Syrian+Mig+23
  13. Well, the Eduard website now lists the FW190D11/13 combo as a May (next month) release. Stay tuned. Edited to add: Oops, Gary beat me to it.
  14. I don't pretend to know what Eduard will do regarding the FW190D-11/12/13 combo they are planning to release, but in the past when there have been fuselage differences thay have cut new molds to reflect those differences. The Fokker D VII kits all had molds cut for the different manufacturer's fuselages, the F6F kits had different fuselage molds for the F6F-3 and F6F-5. So, why not the FW190D-11/12/13? I suppose the real worry is that Eduard does not know about the FW190D fuselage differences, and, as a result, would just use the existing mold. They did miss the vent under the wing of the F
  15. I agree. I have been playing Il-2:BOP since it was released on September 4th. I've found it to be a very enjoyable, engrossing, and immersive flight sim. It may be neither as deep nor as detailed as the PC version (I wish the game had complex engine management, it is too easy to damage the engines of some planes due to misuse of the throttle), but, in terms of generating "great flight sim moments" per hour, it is the best I've ever played. I would disagree about the flight models. The flight models used in Il-2:BOP are taken from the PC game, and share that game's strengths and weaknesses
