Looks nice - what scale and what kit manufacturer?

This is EXCELLENT work! Love the training ordnance, it adds some color to the build. Of course, the early paint scheme is good for that too. Keep up the good work! :D

Kurnass-
That is a SWEET Tomcat! How did you do the markings on the weapons? I'm especially interested in the AIM-7 fuse stripes.

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, I can still see, but I'll stick to 1/72 and up for a little while to let my eyes rest.
Thanks to all who participated - this has been a great build to watch develop. Maybe we need more long-term group builds to let us slowpokes get done.

Another completion - a double entry (I hope this is OK, both kits came in one box).
Nichimo's 1/300 Vought A-7E Corsair II and Grumman F-14A Tomcat
The green looks black in these shots. Sorry about the darkness.
Thanks for indulging this unusual entry.

Revell 1/72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat. Copyright 1965 on the box. Starfighter Decals "Early Wildcats Part 3." This plane belonged to Lt. (j.g.) William Leonard, VF-11, Guadalcanal, June 1943. Note the Sundowner's badge by the windshield.
The photos came out very dark, the actual bue gray shade is much ligher in person. This color scheme was not very familiar to me before this build. It has grown on me, and now I feel it may be the most attractive ever worn by a US warplane.
Thanks for looking!

Complete! :)
More shots in the completed builds thread.

Complete! Not my best work, but I built these more for fun than to be contest material.
The A-7, from VA-25:
The F-14 from VF-84:
I'll put additional shots in the completed builds thread.

This sure is fantastic work! Having seen it in person, I can say the photos don't quite do it justice. Keep it up!

Wow! That's amazing work!
Thanks for sharing your work, and especially the techniques you used.

Primer down. Will need to sand a few more rivets to even them out, and fill a few missed seams.
-
Tails on and primer down. Should be in for the deadline.

Holmes- thanks for looking!
FlyARGuard - yes, 78-0811 is an ex-OK ANG bird as you pointed out. You have sharp eyes! This is noted on my Webshots page as a caption to this photo, but I neglected to explain that here on ARC. I was speaking to one of the flight crew in the cockpit (a Nav I believe) and he told me that the heat out in OK had toasted a lot of the insulation on the wiring, and the Pittsburgh folks have needed to do a lot of work on this. Maybe these planes don't like the change in climate?

What an AMAZING heritage flight! Where and when did this happen?
Thanks for sharing these.

Maybe we can start a permanent thread for this important transport.

Anyone have some more Skymaster photos, civilian or military?

At last year's IPMS club holiday party I decided to pick the smallest box. Good things come in small packages, right?
Well, I got this:
1/300 scale - too big for any normal ship model, too small for normal airplane builders. What were the folks at Nichimo thinking? Well, in any case, we'll have a VF-84 Tomcat and a VA-25 Corsair II in next to no time. I just hope the camera can focus on something that small. :P

I've got a couple of subjects from Wolfpak Decals' 72-024 Alaskan Air Command I have been wanting to do. Clik here, you may need to scroll down to see the sheet. I'll pick one of them for the build, most likely the Deuce, since I've got one in the stash. Hi-viz rules!
