Nice work! Looks like you are addressing the issues well as they come up.
I've built the Hasegawa Rhino in this scale and the Revell kit seems to have some advantages. I'll be looking to get one of the Revell ones now too.
-
Thanks, Jake, for helping clear this up.

Thanks, this is about what I was thinking. Do we know why they carried the empty rails on the underwing stations? I'm wondering if one or both had ALE-50 dispensers. I saw three F-16s at an airshow in May (20th and 180th FWs) and they all had these dispensers on one or both stations.

Thanks for the pix, but I'm looking for the combat loads. I'm doubting there was much need for an AGM-88 where they were. What was the A/G ordnance they were using in-country - GBU-12? -38s? -54s? Or something else altogether?
-
Looks good so far. Are those Gunze colors in little patches inside the fuselage?
Also, do you plan to arm this or leave it clean of weapons?
-
Slowly coming together.
Seats w/ painted-on belts. I used Sky Type S for the wraps that go around the parachute riser straps. Tamiya Khaki and Khaki Drab for the cushions, and Sky Gray for the straps. The seats themselves are NATO Black.

The fuselages themselves were closed up. Some fit issues of the lower LERX surfaces and the forward fuselage to the top in front of the cockpit and at the back underneath. Looks like there will be some sanding and putty/Mr. Surfacer.

-
Here are the seats, almost done (need a flat coat to tie it all together and allow dry-brushing).

The headrest on one was molded with the molds misaligned. This means the finished seat is just a little off in all three axes. This will be a closed-canopy build.
Note that the seat belts are simply painted Tamiya tape.

Any good references out there on what a combat load would be for the 148th FW F-16C-50 would be? Looking for recent timeframe to put this on the single gray "Have Glass" scheme. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip on the spreader. I have a few of these kits in the stash and knowing this will help.

IIRC he posted earlier this year he was looking for a new caster, but was considering doing it himself come the good weather. I myself would like to buy some of his cluster bombs, which seem long out of stock.
Did you PM him on this forum? He may respond there.

FS 36173? Looks a lot like the same color USAF AMC planes are painted.

UPDATE: This build is still moving along, but I'm in the rather boring portion of prepping parts by removing them from sprues, sanding off mold lines and gates, etc. Not much to see yet, but work is being done.
-
Wow - very ambitious in number and detail (that's a LOT of flaps to drop!). Waiting to see this done!
-
Moving quickly and looking good!
-
Enjoy yourself, rest up, and come back refreshed. Goodness knows you've committed to getting us a lot of fine merch!
PS - got my Vipers next gen decals this week and can't decide which one to make first! Decisions, decisions.
-
I stand corrected. I wish Hasegawa would go improve some other 1/72 kits in its lineup.
-
I believe this is the only kit of the T-4 in1/72.
-
I'll make sure to cover any fit issues in my WIP pictures.

Here's the Tomcatters one I built a few years ago:

I built it in an asymmetric clean pylon configuration I saw in a photo from Oceana. The way they put those on and off amazes me! I did need to add red Microscale decal stripes to the skunk stripe in back, the kit decals do not help at all with this.

Phantom-
Knowing you you'll have a baker's dozen of these completed before most of us could get one done, and it will look good, too!
Are you doing the scheme on the box top?
-
Very basic OOB build planned. Current plan is to paint/decal this as #4 with the red belly.

No work started prior to 7/1:

-
I'll join in with a Kawasaki T-4 in 1/72 (Hasegawa):

Not sure which one of the 4 prototypes I'll do - probably #4 with the red undersides.
-
Spectre-
I have the same decals in the stash, I may do one of them (not the white one!) later in the GB if I get my current entry done in time.
Not that I've tried it, but perhaps a very light gray/off white panel line wash is in order for Casper? FS 36622 maybe?
-
With that Tamiya panel line stuff - does it show through the final coat a little so you can avoid a post-clear-coat wash? Sounds like it could be a time-saver there.

I'll need to write down some of these tips and tricks so I can use them on future ship builds. This is coming out very nice!
