  1. Got the last grey paint on today, just a quick clear coat left, then it's time for decals!

Tried not to tone down the pre-shading too much on top of her today, I think it got pretty good. It's more visible IRL though than on pics...

    Comments?

  2. Looks good enough for me, Gene.. :soapbox:

Nah, seriously, I think it looks great! Will give it a try myself. What thickness in PC have you used? Did you heat it to make it easier to bend?

With a kit stash of 20+, perhaps I should do a mold and try to make'em in resin myself... :soapbox:

  3. Thanks a lot Mike!

Too bad I can't get into the store then, I just get some error..

    I'll keep trying though.... :D

And yes, I'll have to agree; Dr. Pepper, please give us some legacy Hornet intakes!!

  4. Well, I do have one Fujimi kit, but my intention was to build it as is, to compare it to the Hasegawa one. Maybe I'll just have to try to build the intake trunking myself..

If only someone could do some resin fod covers or something....

  5. Hey guys,

Having searched the forum and not really found what I wanted, I feel urged to post a question about this matter.

I am just about to start on the Hasegawa legacy Hornet in 1/72 scale, and I really want to make the Hornet as real as possible. My thoughts are an early Kuwaiti Hornet, with single chaff/flare buckets under the intakes. Well, actually I'm a Hornet freak and have over 20 of them in my stash, but I'll start off with this one.

I've read about the Fine Molds etch fret, which I'm trying to get hold of. I also have the Eduard fret, both for the A and C. The upcoming Aires pit for a C is sure of interest, I think about adding that one too.

What more could be of any use for me? :coolio: How do I solve those crappy intakes? Anyone got an idea?

I also have the Aires exhaust nozzles for the Fujimi kit, do they fit the Hasegawa?

All advice, help and tips about this kit is most warmly welcome! :o

    Thanks a bunch!

  6. Looking good! Make sure to think about what parts you put on before you lay down the decals and stuff, some of them get inthe way. ATleast that's how it is with my 1/48 version. I had to pry off some parts to lay down some decals cause the parts got in the way. (antenna and other such things)

Thanks for the "heads-up" Rasczak, I'll have it in mind! Usually I leave all antennas off until final assembly, to avoid breaking something..

Got on the second grey on the Harrier a few days ago. Only the dark grey left, then decals! I think I toned down the pre-shade a little too much, it still is my first real attempt on pre-shading. I'll see how it turns out after some post-shading and a wash, hopefully it'll be ok in the end..

  7. My F-16A BAF White Falcon are ready for take off..

Hasegawa 48th with decals from DACO, Eduard cockpit sets, Verlinden ACESII seat, Aires wheelbay and PW100 exhaust. Pitottube and antenna are scratch.

Looks absolutely stunning, very good job! :bandhead2:

  8. you are welcome, happy New year to you too :worship:

I don´t know exact difference between B and C (on airliners pics are all A or B I think) I hope Jake Melampy will lighten that up here :) what I know is:that C have all surfaces small triangle shaped, and A and B´s rear "wings" are larger...About that mix on one plane I heard that the reason is to spend old missiles during missions. But as you noticed, I have all missiles on my Viper same.

there are some links for ammo :

there is clearly seen asymetric load...

I catched up a little on the AIM-120's. Seems like the B and C are the same, except for that part about the fins you mention. On the C they are smaller, to allow internal carriage on the F-22. The A version is an early version. This link gives pretty good reading about the AMRAAM.

    AIM-120 AMRAAM

On that pic with asymetric load, all three looks like they are the same, I think. Maybe because they are inert training rounds? I'll go with all the same as well, that's the easiest on an "out of the box" build, as this one is supposed to be. :worship:
