  1. Very sharp F-16! The finish looks great, as do the markings. Those Revell 1/72 F-16 kits are little jewels aren't they? Again, great looking Viper. ;)

    Cheers,

    Alby

    Thanks Alby! ;)

Yep, I really like Revell's kit, it's for sure better than the Hasegawa one. Haven't built the Academy one yet though..

    Great job Niklas!

It's nice to see that the IRIS-T have been useful ^_^

I can't wait to see your two Norwegian Falcons side by side.

    Cya,

    Clément.

    Hey Clément!

Finally I have some pics to show of the Norwegian Viper! :)

A big THANKS for those missiles, they sure came in handy! As you've probably figured out, the other one will be on

the two-seater. That one won't be finished for another few months though, I have some other stuff ahead of it in the

pipeline, waiting for some attention.. :P

  2. Ok guys, finally this one is done! Started during the Viper 2.0 group build, but didn't

have no time nor motivation to finish until now. It's the Revell kit in 72nd scale. Used

the Zotz decal sheet, together with roundels from Flying Colors. As I'm building an BM

as well, I only had the fin flash for that one, so on this Viper, the fin flash is painted on.

I think it got alright..

    Comments?

  3. This bird caught my interest from the very beginning, when I found the WIP. I've been following it closely,

and it turned out just stunning! All the detail you've put into this bird is simply amazing. This kind of building

technique is what I personally aim for. To be this good is my goal, you've done a bl**dy great job on the Prowler!

And it sure does deserve that first place, no doubt about that!

  4. Hey JMan!

Regarding that Micro Mesh (MM), I might have a piece of advice for you. Try one of those nail buffers your GF use to polish her nails.. :wasntme:

At least here in Sweden, there are nail buffers about 6 inches long, with four different grades on. From quite coarse, to really, really fine.

Not MM, but a good substitute. Will do the job, definately with a few dips in future afterwards.

Kind of a poor man's MM.. :touche:

Hope you understand my explanation though, otherwise I'll just get a photo of that darn thing, to help the explanation.. :)

Good luck with that Hornet now, I'm sure it'll be a blast, just like the SLUF was until it got in harms way...

  5. I know the 1/72 kit also released as an Austrian version, but don’t remember if it was the updated version with the RWR on the fin and the dispensers on the sides of the rear fuselage, like the 1/48 kit.

I think this is only the third plastic change release of the 1/48 kit. Decal variations aside, the releases were the J35F/J, J35O, and now the recon version.

What I can’t believe is that still no one has made Super Falcons for the 1/48 kit. We have a ton of detail stuff from Aires, some conversion stuff from Maestro (?) Models, and still no missiles.

Nope, the 1/72 version only changed boxart. Plastic parts are all the same, no matter if it's released as a Swedish or Austrian Draken. Sadly, I must say, since the Austrian OE differs quite a lot from a Swedish F or J... But I do cross my fingers that Hasegawa do see the potential of their 1/72 kit, now that their 1/48 scale kit has done so remarkably well.. :wasntme:

  6. I have a book which states that export C/D-model (Finnish, Malaysian, Kuwaiti and Swiss) Hornets can in fact pull 9G.

The book I read it in is "F/A-18 Hornet - A Navy success story", by Dennis R. Jenkins, published by Aviation Week books.

It says nothing about the US Hornets being able to pull 9G though...

  7. Hey JMan, just looked into this WIP after a few weeks off ARC.

You really have a serious stroke of bad luck! So sorry to hear

about everything that's happening to you! That McD-gig might

not be the best, but still, it's a job. I've been doing some time

there myself, so I know how you feel..

Keeping my fingers crossed that you'll get better very soon, and

find a better job. We will for sure miss your WIPS in the meantime,

they DO bring all those things Spooky said, to this community!

Get well soon, and best of luck!

And finally, if you need to stash up, I'll be happy to send one

over to you, just PM your addy. 48 scale, modern jets?

  8. Hey Spooky, I sure hope you get some good shots, and share'em with

us all who can't make it to Open Dagen...! Well.. I just don't hope, I'm

    pretty convinced you will.. :)

That Vulcan would have been something, but I guess I'll have to wait

another year to see it. Looking forward to hear all about the airshow

    and see some stunning photos!

By the way, have you painted those Drakens yet..?

  9. Nice to see you've finally made it over from the Dark Side!

Was it that Y-wing of yours that brought you to the true scale?

Seriously, nice going on that bang seat, noone will tell the difference

    with a closed canopy anyway...:)

  10. Well, all that can be said about this one have already been said,

nevertheless she's a really stunning Y-wing! The weathering on

    this one is simply amazing!

Well done, my friend, as always..

    Glad midsommar!
