Now that paintjob is just awesome, man!! One of the best
I've ever seen, that's for sure! Now I know what I want my
next F-16 to look like..!
Keep it up, she'll be stunning!!
-
You´re welcome :D
Will be great with some color on these two babes :D
Cheers!
Now THAT's something we've waited for a very long time......
-
I really enjoy this thread, this Prowler will for sure be a stunning one!
I'll build one in the smaller scale (72) myself one day, and I'll have this
one pinned for reference. It'll look really cool on a deck with that tractor,
that's for sure!
This Prowler is just a piece of art...
-
As always, a really nice build, Janne! A few flaws to be seen, but as Spooky
said, at least you finish a kit once every now and then..
I really, really like that scheme, it sure looks the part! I for sure wouldn't
mind having that one in my collection..
Now I've gotta start building again myself.. :)
-
Hmm, whatever happened to that supposed Draken build of yours..?
Just like Spooky, I'm kind of disappointed in you here... :)
On a more serious note:
Could you just give this a break, dude?!? You're building so fast and
so good the others of us just feel empty in comparison..! I haven't
finished a kit in three months, and you rate at one a month? Now
that's not fair..!
I'm sure this'll be just as good (if not better!) as all the others, and
I'm still impressed of your rate and quality! So far it looks really
great, and all that resin will make it a winner!
-
Looks great! ;) Can't wait to see some decals on this one, she'll be beautiful!
-
Agree with Jack, those static strips-thingies looks just great!
Now do some sanding, and show us some paint on her!
-
Thanks a lot John, a truly great article, very informative!
-
Now that's a neat looking Viper! Awesome paintjob, dude!!
-
yeah, it´s a real putty monster!!!
Hang in there, Janne! You'll do a great job in the end, as always! :)
Soon it'll be time for some modelling action over at my place as well!
Getting settled now, slowly it's getting closer to a "re-opening".. :P
-
Hey Najk,
The Drakens are doing just fine. Right now they are doing battle in my dungeons in order to settle which one may enter the
paint-shed first...
"Check Six....."
Spooky.
P.S.: Temps are up again, day's are getting longer, any day soon....
Nice mate, looking forward to them! :)
Once I get settled in my new home, I'll get my modelling table
up and running, and I'll put some colors on a few planes myself.. ;)
-
First you do an F-16 (oh well, its Japanese cousin anyway..) and now you
do a jubilee Tornado!?? What's happened to you, man??
Seriously, I think it looks just great! I'd go for that white aluminium on honey
primer, sure looks right to me.
Hey, Spooky! How are those Drakens coming along..?
-
I've been off the computer for about a month now, and just found this thread.
That's some awesome work, Jack! This Viper is really coming alive, and I think
you've done really well on all those modifications. Keep up the great work!
-
Well done on this one, Janne, despite all the problems you encountered!
I think those colors looks just spot on.
-
A really nice looking Draken you've managed to put together there.
Just two little things.. If the rudder is deflected, the nose wheel would be
turned to the same side, since those are connected to the same controls
(as far as I know..). And the IR-seeker under its nose should have a dark
color, almost like plain black, check your refs..
Other than that: Beautiful!
-
Really nice build you've got there, looks amazing!

Tamiya 1/48 F-16CJ kit instructions advise to use the clear canopy for the rear and the smoke canopy for the front main canopy, is this correct? Also the black trim around the canopies...how is this masked as the front is black lined with fuselage color on main outline and the rear canopy is black lined...would you use semi gloss black to paint this?
The paint scheme indicates Light Ghost Gray, Medium Gray and Gunship Gray, but for the nose cone they indicate RAF Dark Gray, I use Model Master paints, can someone advise what color the nose cone is?
If you do a search for F-16 radome, or similar, you'll find the answer to that question.
In short you could say there is no correct color, and all colors are correct, since this
varies a lot due to airborne dirt, and so on.
Regarding the clear or smoke canopy, the answer would be: Look at photos of the
particular aircraft, and the date that photo was taken, since this varies a lot from plane
to plane. One plane can also have different set-ups (clear/smoke, smoke/smoke,
smoke/clear, clear/clear) from time to time. So as always, check your refs.
I guess for the black lines I would try Tamiya tape to mask them off and airbrush them.

Thanx Dragan :)
Madness? naaaaw, not me I have a paper telling me I´m finally sane :P
So you keep telling us, but you haven't actually showed that piece of paper
to us just yet... IF it in fact exists...... :P
