  1. The HB kit builds very well, bu as pointed out there are issues. Some of the panel detail is fictional at best, and the burners are pretty poor representations. If GWH do a -27 in the same vein as the -35, it will be fantastic. The KH -35 is pretty good, but really pales in comparison to the GWH. I expect the same will be the case with their respective -27 kits. M
  2. Speaking of ridiculous Hasegawa prices. Add the 4th TA-4 Skyhawk to the list! Stupid asking prices!
  3. BTW. Dave made a jig for the 48th scale Hasegawa Hornets to set their incidence correctly. If you asked him nicely, he may do one for 32nd scale! M
  4. So I inquired with Mr Naza bout buying one of his sets. $26US for the set, fine. $12 postage, okay, $6 Paypal fee OUCH!!! For a total of US$44. Haven't decided if I need it "that" badly. Just an FYI. M
  5. Check out Gary Wickham's build review... http://www.themodellingnews.com/2017/10/gary-dry-fits-fitter-in-his-review-of.html?m=1 M
  6. Did 04 Blue have Thrust Vectoring Nozzles? I hope to do this conversion in 48th also, at some point... M
  7. Could you finish the second LANTIRN from the Tamiya D kit with the head rotated so that the glass is covered? M
  8. The Akan paints seem pretty consistent between the lacquer and acrylic range, color match wise. I used the lacquer version for my -35, simply because I prefer that type of paint.
  9. The MRP Su-35 colors are wy off compared to photographs. The AKAN versions (in m case the lacquers) were MUCH closer. M
  10. I built the review model for FSM when i first came out. The model has been sitting on my shelf ever since, and shows no issues with the undercarriage. FWIW. M
  11. Part of the problem is that there are a number of options. No 2 seats are "exactly" the same! Especially considering wear and tear and the age of the seat. Hardest thing to pin down is the belt colour, as there isn't one that I have found that looks right. The belts have a metallic appearance to them that is not available without mixing. FWIW. M
  12. Lovely stuff!! Where did you find the Smokewinder?? M
  13. Where can we pick these up from? M
  14. What about the idea of having a resin rear IP/coaming piece for the late block D included? This would not be as expensive as tooling for injected plastic, and would cover the issues noted. M
  15. Admittedly, I can only compare such things to photographs, and not the real thing, but regarding MRP Su-35 set, I think it has some issues. I sprayed sample swatches and compared them to a good number of photos, and the MRP colors were all incorrect for an In-Service aircraft. I ended up buying the AKAN lacquers specific to the 35, and did the same comparison. "MUCH" closer match to the photos. I ended up mixing a considerable amount of white into the MRP light blue (to match the AKAN version) for the overall camo, as there is such a lot to cover, and used the AKAN gray and dark blue.
  16. Regarding the GWH decals. I used the kit decals on my review build for Finescale Modeler, and had no problems what-so-ever. The decals behaved perfectly, with no silvering, and they all settled down into engraved details with no issues. Doog's had decal issues (a "color shift" of the paint around the decal) because he did not use a gloss clear over the camouflage paint. He insisted that the MrPaint that he had used was smooth enough to apply decals on. And while that may be the case, it is well known that applying clear coats, either gloss, matt, or somewhere in between, changes t
  17. I've spoken to Mike Reeves at Two Mikes. He could be convinced to do a conversion set! M
  18. Check out the entire build thread. Very inspiring, and some valuable info. Thank you Gabor for sharing! M
  19. Bringing this back up. PLEASE print this sheet!! M
  20. G'day! Wondering about the block number of the RAAF Super Hornets? Do they have the Rear seat HUD repeater? Cheers, Matthew
