  1. Yes, but I'm not willing to pay stupid money like they are asking for that kit. Yes, that is my choice to make. I don't need it "that" badly! M
  2. How about a re-print of the single seater?? They're very hard to find for a reasonable price. M
  3. Corrected my post. Thanks Jens.
  4. The WA Aggressors are Block 32/42, so, you need the small mouth intake, and PW engine. Light undercarriage for the B32, and heavy undercarriage for the B42. The AK Aggressors are Block 30, so you will need the Big Mouth intake and GE engine, but again, the light weight undercarriage. So from the B50 kit, you could do the AK jet with the only thing "wrong" being the undercarriage/doors/wheels. M
  5. When I did the 32nd scale F-35 I used the MRP HG clear as the final clear coat. Gave a good result, IMO. It appears slightly less obvious over the lighter gray of the markings and RAM panels. FWIW... M
  6. May I suggest that you could "harden" up the mottle? It looks great as is, but is softer than the photo shows. Nice work, non-the less!
  7. The aircraft in the photo is a Mig-29 9-29 SMT. GWH do one. getting there with the Academy kit would be a LOT of work.
  8. The burners from the Revell F-15E work well on the Hasegawa kit. You may be able to pick up the entire kit from Michaels or Hobby Lobby for less than the cost of resin aftermarket (using the appropriate coupons with each store)
  9. "I realized I had to start with the dumbest rock" Wow, your arrogance is just astounding.
  10. "I don't say this to brag but I've won IPMS National category 1st places". Congratulations!! However IPMS contests are not judged on how realistic the model is, so the fact that you have won prizes says nothing for how realistic a model may appear. Heavy pre-shading does not look realistic, especially when considering how actual aircraft weather, ie, they aren't sprayed with black paint along panel lines before being painted with the final color. The actual paint fades and gets dirty, it is not "pre-weathered" in real life. IPMS contests are judged on technique and how well the actual model is
  11. Wolfpack make a 30MKK correction set for the Academy kit which includes fins. My plan is to use those on the HB kit. Having said that, I have not laid the correction parts and kits parts against each other. I will try and do that to compare. M
  12. Re the dental acrylic, make friends with your Dentist! I spoke with 2 dentist friends, each of whom gave me decent quantities of the powder, for nothing. Re the Bondo, I also use this for some jobs. It is relatively quick to dry, sands well, does shrink some, but does "bite" into the plastic. I've never had luck in scribing it though, as it tended to chip. If I know I'm going to be scribing over filler, it is either acrylic/cyano or 2 part epoxy putty. Baking powder and cyano can work too, but I find it is more "brittle" than the surrounding plastic. M
  13. Crackerjazz, Perfect putty is not the putty you're looking for. Superglue with Dental Acrylic does what you want... M
  14. I have a couple of these that have been taunting me to build them. Nice work David!
  15. So how can those of us that have sheets in the wrong colour go about getting replacement copies? I bought both the A and B sets from the website 5/25/17 Cheers in advance Matthew
  16. Have you improved the quality of the NACA panel at all. I received a copy of that part a while ago, and have to say that I was less than impressed with it. M
  17. G'day! Wondering about Italian AV-8B Harrier decals in 48th. There is a scheme that has "paw prints" walking up the rudder. Anyone know if these are available in decal form? TIA M
  18. Oooh, a 2 set Nesher wouldn't be "that" difficult now!! WooHoo!
  19. I'm doing the same thing. (Building a generic jet) I am obliged to use the kit decals, but could not find any reference that supported either of the schemes included by HB as being "real". Bit of a shame.... M
  20. Oh, I succumbed to the temptation a while ago.... Mine will be in either the brown splinter demo scheme, or the wavy white light blue/gray demo scheme. I also have the Wolfpack correction sets for the Academy Su-30 which I'm thinking I will use on this kit.... M
