Have you got a particular reason you put on the "bandit stripe" so askew on the Tomcat i do like the F-8 though
-
Hi While building a A-7 and a F-14 i was wondering what the meaning of the Rainbow colored ( Stars, Chevrons, stripes) on US Navy stand for??
-
Very impressive....Ehm just a question...if the F-15 is sun bleached.why is the underside as bleached as the top surface?

Calling Kitty Hawk! Replacement parts needed!
tom-navy-cat replied to nicholassagan's topic in Jet Modeling
When i Mailed them there were two links...One link i got no answer and the other link worked just fine here are the link adress kittyhawkmodel@vip.sina.com elitetorn@126.com -
Depends on your modelling skills! i don't see why you cant convert the MH into a CH. looking at the parts it should not be a big problem to convert the tanks in to the smaller sized tanks of the CH

Hi everyone, Like the title says i'm looking for a Hasegawa 1/48 scale windshield which is missing from my kit and i hope someone can help me out because its very hard getting replacement parts in Europe for Asia based kits
-
Somehow i have a small hope that Tamiya will do a New Tomcat in 1/32....When the 1/48 Tomcat was announced i got this feeling that Tamiya was testing the waters on how good a 1/48 Tamiya Tomcat would be selling and if a 1/32 will make them money or not
-
Hi Chris Maybe you could do a Canopy set for the 1/32 Tamiya Tomcat....That thing is such a Thick lump of distortion and in starving need of some nice details

Well i guess that will be your next project... Sorry cant help with some good pictures (you probably got the ones from the DACO book?) Will this future set fit the Tamiya tomcat as well? or will it fit only on the trumpy tomcat? Hope someone has some good pictures for you and follow this with interest Keep up your top-notch work

Ehm have done that for years with Revell matt...the satin colors of Revell can sometimes dry very slow so i buffed the matt color (wich will give you that aircraft shine you're looking for sometimes!) So i guess it will work on any matt paint

Hi Neo, probably the air you see...has always been there, but because of a drop of water, this time you have seen it Anyway the problem cant be the crowncap (red arrow points there) because most of the time i airbrush without that cap (the small cap is only there to protect the tip of the airbrush needle) dont think this is the problem, maybe your nozzle has a small crack or a ragged edge which will give problems with the flow of your paint Some more points you can look at(is the airflow not obstructed between the nozzle and nozzle-cap,is the inside of the nozzle-cap clean? is your needle

Paint consist lacquer to keep the paint from falling apart (and blocks the stream of your airbrush), the fillers and pigments will sink to the bottom of your airbrush cup if you thin your paint to much...Problem gets worse with matt paint...(more fillers etc) Try a bit less paint thinner! If your airbrush have a good constant stream with water and thinner (you dont have a bent tip, then the air will flow back to your cup...and your paint will be on the floor, your desk...clothes!) Try this before you do anything to your costly airbrush, needle or tip Hope this helps

when i see this i want to take up another hobby....unbeleiveable workmanship
-
There could be a number of reasons for this kickback!!! nozzle is dirty crowncap not tightened enough dirt in your crowncap a hairline crack in the nozzle hope this can help a bit with your airbrush problems

Funny how everybody paints the engine cowling black.... when Tamiya released this model i was reading a modeling magazine with an article about the A6M5 zero and in this article there was this japanese WW2 pilot who said that the actual color was Dark/midnight blue!!! not black! In the black and white pictures used for reference this would of course show as black and the mistake was born dont know if this is true but if i would be making a zero i would certainly be doing some research to this fact
