  8. Moonhappy was a P-61A-1- - -no hardpoints for droptanks. "Nightiemission" was also an A-1, no droptanks. The droptanks weren't carried until the P-61A-11 and the only outboard of the booms. Oh, "Skippy" was one of the few early A models that did have the turret. Cheers, Terry
  9. The KC-97 was based off of the B-50. Only the XC-97s and YC-97s were based off of the B-29. Cheers, Terry

  14. Don't what's going on, I just went through all the hoops to change my login name and password but the verification links don't work. I can log in but, can't respond or post anything. It's beginning to get frustrating. Terry
  15. It threatened to lock me out to so, I'll leave it alone for today and try again tomorrow. ME thinks Brett REALLY needs to find a different/much better server. Just my $.02. Cheers, Terry
  16. No work54 is still no-work. Worked for a minute or so, just long enough for me to try to log-in. It didn't recognise my log in so, I'll leave it alone for awhile, maybe try later on this afternoon. Cheers, Terry
  17. Just the angle. that bird was all black. A side note about that particular P-61. It was destroyed in a landing accident. It was trying to land in the fog on Iwo Jima one night, got off course and slipped the top of a parked P-61 destroying both. Cheers, Terry
  18. I'll second what the others said. I don't think either aircraft ever had the radomes painted. As for the fixed upper guns, Lone Star Models has the cover for the Fixed gun installation in both 48th and 32nd scales. I highly recommend LSM's parts(just a happy LSM customer.) If you decide to get one from Mike, tell him I sent you. Cheers, Terry (certifiable P-61 NUT!!)
  19. Hi Tim,

Two very heavy small, flat-rate USPS boxes are departed here today.

    Many Thanks, Terry

  20. I believe all of the wood is new. I think a few of the metal parts are original, not sure which ones or how many. I seem to remember reading that the guys in NZ, hired one of the original factory workers to build the fuselage mold to factory specs. Cheers, Terry
  21. I found out recently that Tillamook Air Museum will be moving across the mountains to Madras, Oregon sometime in 2016. They are working on a 65,000sq ft. building to house the museum aircraft at the Madras airport. It will be next to the Erickson Air Tanker hangar. I understand that the lease on the blimp hangar expires in 2016 and due to high building maintainance and insurance is the main reason for the move.It will be interesting to see how they move some of the static aircraft. I'm looking forward to their move as that will put the museum only about a 3/12-4 hour
  22. It's more than a restoration, it's actually considered a new build. the basic airframe is completely new with very few of the original metal parts being used. There are, I believe two more being either built or restored. One in Canada and one in the UK from what I understand. Still an awesome bird, though. Hopefully, it'll make it to Reno to compete for the Heritage award one of these years. Cheers, Terry
  23. 300 gal. drop tanks were also cleared for use on P-61s/F-15A Reporters. If they were used operationally or not, I'm not positive on that. I believe the F-15A Reporters did use them. Cheers, Terry
