  3. Hi David, I have that kit. It is the 2nd release and they did correct some of the errors that were in the first kit. However, they only corrected what could be done without a major retool. The cowls are corrected, the props are improved and about a good as they'll be considering that they are one piece prop/spinner. They did put the fairing on the engine gear case to fair in to the psinner but they got the fairing too big which results in a significant step between the spinner and the fairing. The canopies are much better but, they is still a bit of a fit issue with the main canopy. It nee
  4. Another excellent book is the Warbird Tech, B-29.
  5. Me too! I've got a stack of 48th B-24s.
  6. It looks like they got the shape right, but not the position. The way they(and GWH)show it could never happen. A very easy fix, though. Either don't show them or only show part of one. A parked P-61 will have the controls locked in a neutral position unless being worked on. Cheers, Terry PS: This one will put the "budget" in a world of hurt but, gotta have it!
  7. The P-61B is 32nd scale and from Hobby-Boss, not GWH. Not my prefered scale but, still on my "must have" list. Cheers, Terry (certifiable P-61 NUT!!)
  8. Outstanding job on that GWH P-61A kit. One of the best I've seen in a long time. I'd like to know how you went about the panel line staining. I've got a couple P-61 builds planned that will need similar work. Cheers, Terry (Certifiable P-61 NUT!!)
  9. Count me in! Don't know yet what I'll be building. I've several in progress but, they're too far along and hopefully will be done before the GB starts. Just had a thought. Would rebuilds be eligible? I have a couple that are in bad need of a rebuild. Cheers, Terry
  10. I make and use lead weights(have for many years) as well as sell them. I use CA to secure the ones that don't fit tight and have never had a problem. I would, however recommend that after guling with CA to let it air out thoroughly before you close up the fuselage. Cheers, Terry
  11. Rats!! At that price, I'll probably have to pass on it- - -at least until I can find one at a lower price. Terry (certifiable P-61 NUT!!)

  13. Speaking of C-45s, how come no decent C-45/AT-11 kits in 48th? How 'bout it kit makers???
  14. Gotta agree with that! Would love to see one in 48th.
  15. Over on HS one of the posters suggested a "Difficult kit division" tribute group build to honor Bondo. Several of us are in if it comes to pass. I've only got one resin kit but,I also have several vac kits that would qualify for Bondo's "difficult kit division". Anybody here interested? I never had the pleasure of meeting him but, I always enjoyed his posts and I did have a few business(model) dealings with him. The modeling world is a much poorer place now. CAVU, Bondo. Cheers, Terry

  17. Header page comes up fine but nothing after that. Keep getting "can't find page" notice. No-Work54 at it again or is it just my 'puter? Cheers, Terry Disregard- - HS back up and running.
  18. Thanks for the tip, Ken. I'll dig through my stash, I might have one with Ritchie's markings on it. Thanks, Terry
  19. I'm planning a tribute build of a 48th scale F4D Phantom flown by a childhood friend. Bill flew with the 555th TFS out of Udorn, Thailand and was shot down on 1 Sept. 1968. He and his backseater punched out successfully but no sign of Bill was ever found. His backseater was, fortunately rescued later that day. So, I would like to find/buy a decal sheet for 555th F4Ds. I would also(very long shot here)like to beg, buy or borrow a photo of his aircraft. The particulars for his aircraft are: F4D, serial# 66-8688, tail code OY. Thanks, Terry
  20. The side windows on the P-38 canopy did indeed roll down like car windows. There is a small crank on each side of the cockpit. The windows were rolled down for ventialtion on the ground. The aircraft were never flown with the side windows down. HTH, Terry
  21. Contact Bill at:wkoster22@att.net and buy direct from him. Bill's one of the good ones. Cheers, Terry
  22. Just e-mail your mailing address to me and I'll get a couple on their way. I'll see if I can round up a 300 gal. tank if you'd like. The standard drop tank (P-38 style is 165 gal, if I recall). Cheers, Terry
  23. Don't know if the Tamiya P-47 tanks are better or not, I haven't seen them. The GWH and RM tanks are very nice. About the 300 gal. tanks, I'm not sure if they were used during the war(I'll check on that) but I do know that they were tested. Cheers, Terry (Ceertifiable P-61 NUT!!) 10 built(8 for myself) 8 in various stages of construction(includes two GWH kits) 29 in the stash(including 1 GWH kit.
