  1. Still rate the 1/32 Revell as the best Hunter, but the new era Airfix 1/48 Hunter F.6 looks to be a great kit. Aerocraft are making a 1/48 T.7 (side by side two seater) conversion for it. FGA.9/Mk.58 is bound to follow. Personally prefer the later variants in the more outlandish schemes, like Jon Whaley's flamboyant Meteor and the Swiss job with the newspaper font all over it, called something like the Papyrus Hunter. Arab ones in shades of sand and coffee are also quite cool, as the Swedish Acro Hunter, Fleet Air Arm GA.11 - huge amount of options really. Don
  2. This is such a farce. Time to consider a Tamiya A as stocking filler and hold out for a new tool 1/32 Tamiya Tomcat. AMK should stick to smaller projects they can produce more swiftly and easily. Tony
  3. Arrived safely this morning. Many thanks - really great looking decals! Tony
  4. Ordered a set too, today, and might need a second. Not sure if there are flanges on the viewfinder and ventral trigonal apertures to hold the panes as there are for the forward and side camera windows. The reason I ask is that the t-shaped clear part in the KH kit is too thin, so needs cutting apart into two and inserting from the outside (and not attached as one piece from the inside, unless the DMold parts have compensated for the flimsy KH offering). Either that or DMold please cast a chunkier clear part that's man enough to provide a flush fit. Have bought the
  5. Preordered two from Jumblies a few weeks ago. Great buy at £22.95 chaque un. Looks to have the latest Revell (~44 x 25 x 11 cm) box with the graphite trim, so fatter than the old blue box = Enough room to stuff the AM in. Need to source the porky FG.1 leg from somewhere (other than SAC). Tony
  6. It might be the ammonia. Maskol shouldn't be used to "fill in" the bits between kabuki tape masks if the clear part has been coated in Future / Johnson's. Tony
  7. Preordered these: CD48013: 1/48 ANG F-102 Delta Dagger (reprint) CD48073: 1/48 RF-101C Part 1 Have they been sent out yet? Know you had some delays from Cartograf. Wondering if they'll beat the Xmas postal rush? Cheers Tony in UK
  8. No. However, Alleycat's reputation is excellent and they are "local". Tony
  9. Yes, I have preordered a pair of these kits and wish to make at least one as an F-4K / FG.1. The Hypersonic products look good, including the canopy hood beef-up parts. I'm also adding Alleycat resin inlets and some Eduard etch, so the end price is a bit higher but still great. The F-4K / FG.1 had a chunkier NLG leg (because of the double extending oleos) and was raked back 2-3°. Kit part will have to be modified a little. Tony
  10. According to peeps who visited the Revell stand at Telford it is the same as the 2004 boxing, though the box itself might have that current Revell swathe of carbon grey and have grown unnecessarily larger. I do hope there's a possibility of new tool wheels. The only advantage of resin is if the hubs are done separately, like the Brassin jobs. I also wished they got hold of Hasegawa's one-piece -4J canopy, slotted stabs and -4K NLG. Alas not yet. Tony
  11. Yes, same decal options as the 2004 release. I'm also thinking USAF/FMS-type MLG wheels instead of the correct Naval J/K types (which were metal and vinyl in the Hasegawa boxings). Maybe they've added parts for the correct MLG hubs this time around ? Tony
  12. After all this cr@p and flak I hope, as punishment, AMK mould the kit in turquoise, purple and pink Tony
  13. If I tried CAD I could have all the references in the world and still fashion a turdy U-2 canopy. Actually I think that's why they include the "howdah", to hide it. Or it's the effect of CAD designers doing all that cutesy cr@pp¥ armour and eggplanes - these days everything's a caricature Tony
  14. It's all part of the smoke and mirrors. But they left out the little stands to show deployed bomb winglets à la airshow Tony
  15. AMK should have stuck to Eastern European subjects and avoided all this flak. Doing American has put their head in a punchbag. I wish AMK well but they should just proceed with what they have as V.4, whatever that is, or this is going to be the last ever kit they make because of sheer emotional exhaustion. Tony
  16. Yes https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10037646/60/5 HTH Tony
  17. Qué? Sixteen?! Surely there's room for a couple of AMKs just for the wings, decals and stores? I'm sticking to my Trumpeter-Zacto 1/32 beast and hoping Tamiya will see fit to issue a 1/32 new tool Tomcat. If not, I might succumb to a couple of 1/48 Tamiya F-14As as they really look the part. Frankly, I'd rather AMK focused more on the Eastern European jets which they do so well: c'mon, we need 1/48 AMK Flagons if GWH don't beat them to it, the way ICM beat them with the Foxbats and Tamiya with the Tomcats. Tony
  18. Super! Getting this one as well. The 66th TRW option is great - thanks Kursada for the extra coverage! Tony
  19. Looks great! I'm in for a set. Tony
  20. Looks great. What's next? An accurate Su-15? Liked their MiG-31 a lot. Tony
  21. The ex Luftwaffe jets could be configured with the LOROPS when in Greek service but you'd have to study pictures of Norm 83 aircraft and see if they had the sideways "aiming" sights on the canopy. I think they were customarily used on KS-127 LOROPS jets. HTH Tony
  22. Need a D to do PB4Y-1 Calvert & Coke Tony
  23. And here... (and an edit to activate link) HTH Tony
  24. Nino, I'll treat the Kinetic V.1 as a prototype and will buy the AA V.2 if and when it emerges. I don't think you can have too many of this aircraft. I'm really hoping for the 1/32 Tanmodel version. Tony
  25. Just received my "V1" 1/48 Kinetic Su-33 and am very impressed. Had been hankering over this for a couple of years as I normally only build 1/32 scale and the occasional tiny 1/72 kit. The canopy seam is annoying in this scale and the contents stacked a tiny bit too tight, but it looks like a fabulous kit. Will get the Zvezda 1/72 kit to build first to fully understand the geometry of the aircraft with folded wings, and hope the Tan Model 1/32 CAD makes it to plastic one day. Great aircraft the Su-33. Would be nice to see a good kit of the production MiG-29K some
