MH-60 Black Hawk Main Landing Gear
hawkwrench replied to Challenge Accepted's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Go take a look at Pete Fleischmann's HH-60 build over on LSP. He has an in-flight diorama and there you can see the strut extension. I'm a former UH-60 maintenance crew chief and a modeler and wanting to know the strut extension at fly is a little AMS, but it's your model. I can guarantee you no one will notice if you have the correct LG stance at fly unless you don't have one at all. PS-- Don't forget to extend the tail landing gear strut as well. Tim -

Wow. Sorry to hear that. Hope all is well now. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this diorama. Where in Ky are you? Tim

Tim Hudson. You oughta try and snag a Kitty Hawk 1/35 MH-60L or HH-60G kit. Their sweet!!! What was your MOS in the AF? Tim

Great start on the hawk so far! Are you with the 238th Med or the Assault? I've got a buddy who's a crew chief over in the 238th there in FFT. Tim I was in the Ky NG working on hawks back in the late 80's early 90's.

Man, you work quick. Another masterful model by you in the making Oliver! Tim

Thanks Holmes. It's a slow build, but getting there! Tim

Wow, that instrument panel looks like the real thing! (But that's not surprising coming from you Oliver) Tim
-
Sure would be nice if they could make some current H-60 pilot seat belts. Tim

I came across the pic of a 160th MH-60M and it looks like 2 new countermeasure detectors on the nose. Hmmm, wonder what those are? EDIT: After doing some snooping around, they aren't CM after all. Those are part of the DVE or Degraded Visual Environment sensors that are new to Army helos. It's no wonder, their 1st in line! The parasitic drag has to suck for this bird! Tim

Indoors and outdoors???????? It's actually called interior and exterior! All "prestigious" brands know that. Tim

Personally, I think his prices for the sets are pretty high. How about the H-60 sets being for sale around 50$ seeing that shipping will be more. Tim

Wow, totally beautiful build. Thanks for the journey. I enjoyed watching this come together! I'm sure the yogurt company will panic now that their sales will start to decline. Tim
