  1. Hi Andre I managed to acquire both a canopy and a set of decals from a friend who has the same kit, so it is finished now with the results posted in the gone but not forgotten GB. Thanks for the reply
  2. Simply stunning, can't wait to see it with markings on!
  3. Looking good. My girlfriend just built this kit, and a tip for the red and white one is to cut the logo over the top of the fuselage to aid fitment ( i cut hers into 3 pieces) otherwise it may require digging into any unopened kits to replace the decal, which will rip! If you have any of the logo decal left when you are finished and would be willing to let it go, then i'm more than happy to take it off your hands.
  4. Oh my god, i won something!! Thanks for a fantastic group build, hopefully there will be another one as i just got a 1/48 scale CH-46E in my local model shop sale!
  5. Looking good, nice to see the hi-vis one done, i built the lo-vis one first for some mad reason, then stopped building them so mines sat in its box gathering dust!
  6. Last up is the Revell 1/72 Jaguar GR.1A with decals from Xtradecal: Again, any comments welcome
  7. Second entry is the Matchbox Jaguar T.2: Any comments on any of the entries more than welcome
  8. Heres the first of my 3 entries to the group build. It's the Airfix 1/72 Jaguar GR.3A: Further info on this and the other 2 entries are in my WIP called A moment of madness!
  9. Last up is the Revell kit: This is by far the best kit of the 3, and in my opinion looks stunning in the black paint scheme. The decals are from the Xtradecal set. The only thing left to do on this kit is the crew boarding ladder, but i still dont know what colour they are supposed to be! Anybody out there know?? ;) Building three kits at the same time was quite a good experience as it gave me a good chance for a comparison and in my opinion the Revell one is head and shoulders above all the rest!!
  10. Next up is the Matchbox kit: This is a very basic kit, but was good fun to build. I'm not very happy with the finish on this one, as the blue looks too dark, despite it being the correct colour. The decals were a complete nightmare with the first set simply refusing to come off of the backing paper ;) . A quick cry of help to my friend that supplied the canopy produced a replacement set which did at least come off the paper! The opacity of the decals was terrible, with the red stripes being translucent, and requiring painting over in various parts of the plane! The roundels were just a
  11. Hi all Time for an update... I know its been a while, but you all know what its like, juggling work with kit building! Ok, all 3 kits are now finished with varying degrees of satisfaction on each one First up is the Airfix kit: The kit itself is a bit of a putty monster, but doesn't look too bad when assembled. The decals are the kit ones, the only ones that caused problems were the stencils on the top of the wings and intakes!
  12. I'm in with a 1/72 Hasegawa F-14A VF-154 Black Knights History. Don't know what decals yet!
  13. I just found this thread, and boy am i glad, i've got one of these half built but gave up when i got to the wing joint, but now i know how to fix it! Yours is absolutely stunning!! :)
  14. Beautiful Drakens, can i ask where you got the patch?
  15. This looks amazing so far, good luck with the rest of it
