  1. Mine has shipped now too! They responded to my e-mail to tell it had shipped, and the status has changed online. Yippee!
  2. There was a discussion about the RAM tape with information on what was done to make it the same color as the rest of the aircraft. Something to do with a new manufacturing process. I can't find the discussion (don't even remember if it was in ARC, its a b**** getting old). Apparently it saves time (and money?) in the painting process. Whether it has the metallic sheen, well the photos above sure seem to have it in the areas that normally would have RAM tape, but I can't tell for sure. We need some "expert testimony" on this one. Certainly in the old scheme, the RAM tape does not appear to have
  3. Yea, I saw an announcement they day after I received my RBF conversion kit from Cold War Studios. Figures.
  4. I contacted them on the 12th and they wrote back and apologized for the delay and said it would ship the next day. Well, yesterday has came and went and it still hasn't shipped. I've sent another e-mail asking what's up. I'm a bit worried as the Chinese new year starts on the 15th I believe. Once that happens I doubt they'll ship anything for a while (unless they do things differently in Hong Kong).
  5. What I am not so sure about is whether or not the "all one color" scheme still uses some sort of Have Glass paint. On the photos I posted, the main color does seem to have that Have Glass sheen as opposed to the color around the cockpit. Oh well, as I stated, I will be doing mine with the contrasting RAM panels with the main color using the MRP paints.
  6. Really nice. I love the camo scheme.
  7. Well, here are two REAL photos of the single color scheme (just larger photos of the one Shane posted). Hard to see the RAM panel tape on these too but, if you look close, its there.
  8. DANG! It looks so real. Getting harder and harder to tell fake from real anymore. Oh well. About what I said, never mind
  9. I'm not sure about it, but from some photos of the new scheme, it appears that the paint is still some sort of Have Glass color. Look at the photo below. There is an amazing amount of tonal variation ranging from green to purple. Caveat: I am not sure that the photo below is actually the new scheme or some other variation in colors that have been tried on the F-35.
  10. Well, they have already billed my credit card using the small packet option pricing, but they haven't shipped yet. I wonder if this is what is holding up my kit.
  11. And the newest scheme is all one color. Gets confusing. I say, pick an airframe you have some photo doc on and go for it. I'm planning on using the MRP Have Glass paints for the primary color and some other as yet undecided but lighter color for the RAM. I think the schemes with the RAM panels showing are cool.
  12. My KASL wings are fine. There is a bit of a problem with the slat and flap attachment points not lining up perfectly in a few spots, but I think I can work around that. Sorry to hear about your wings. Have you tried contacting KASL?
  13. Great work Ilias. Keep up the good work. You are the first place I check when looking for aftermarket.
  14. Isradecal just released a decal set for the RAM panels. Sprue Brothers has it: http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/isd0104.htm Looks nice, but I wouldn't look forward to applying that many decals. I have a masking set for mine.
  15. HobbyEasy now shows it in stock. My order status there is now "Confirmed and ready to ship"! Hobbysearch still shows it as preorder status.
  16. Very cool waltmert! I didn't see that. Great find. I ran across the Simian stuff when looking for Buccaneer stuff. I wish the Harrier stuff had been available when I built my GR.3 years and years ago. It looks like the Fa2 kit will fun to build.
  17. You might this stuff useful. Aftermarket for the Airfix Harriers. Very few left and I don't think they will be making anymore when gone. Intakes, cockpits, etc. https://www.kitsforcash.com/simian-stuff-conversions-c58.htm
  18. You're right about that. They are my fall back masks too. Right now am working on Kinetic Su-33. Only canopy masks out there are Eduard and Crossdelta (another brand that usually includes extra masks). These days, if it has a canopy on it, Eduard probably has a mask for it.
  19. Not going over well on Facebook either.
  20. I've been using Montex or New Ware masks when available for a subject. One thing they have that Eduard masks don't is masks for the inside of the canopy. I think open canopies look much nicer with the inside frames painted. New Ware has Expert and Advanced level masks that include masks for other parts of the aircraft as appropriate. They are more expensive but at my age I am just not steady (nor patient) enough to do it by hand.
  21. Breaking News! HobbyEasy has moved the release date from Feb 9th to Feb 10th. Let the speculation begin Edit: Had the wrong vendor :-(
  22. Nice detailing around the spoilers on the wing. Interesting that they are molding the canopy clear parts separate from the frame. Might be tricky cutting the clear parts from their sprues as there is no frame for the sprue to attach to.
  23. Hey people, let's all chill a little bit. I know, we all take this stuff very seriously, it's our hobby and we're all very much into it. I love the excitement that a new highly detailed kit brings. The anticipation. Sometimes everything is not exactly perfect, but such is the nature of the beast. Remember, they are plastic model kits. One way or another, we'll all find a way to have fun at our hobby. Mark
  24. Those are some strange colored Sidewinders, and the forward fins look like they're purple. Odd.
  25. Beautiful work. You're right about the paint schemes being confusing. I was just looking at pics online and they're all over the place as far as colors. I think the one you chose is really nice (I like blue planes).
