  1. You didn't by chance add any thinned paint back into the jar? That can often upset the balance of the components necessary to maintain the pigments in suspension, or something like that. Suffice it say it will mess the paint up.
  2. My understanding is that things have improved in the last few months. Back in May I placed an order with Quinta Models and it took almost two months to get to me.
  3. XMM has them in stock. XMM is in Russia, so shipping may take a long time. https://xmold-modeling.com/products-page/scale1-48/f-4efg-phantom-ii-seamless-profiled-intakes-for-hasegawa-kit/
  4. Glues like Tamiya Extra Thin melt the plastic and in essence weld the two pieces together. I makes for a strong bond and I have used markiii's suggestion before too. That said, to be really sure it won't break again, use the metal pin method.
  5. I had seen these in pics before but never knew who built them. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the info. Oh well. It is a handsome looking Thud, sigh...
  7. I really like this 105. Does anyone do decals for it in 1/48th?
  8. Beautiful job. Great paintwork. What paints did you use for the basic fuselage colors?
  9. Jeeesss, an entire building as a dedicated modeling studio and warehouse. Guy must have some money (and/or no other life). Very impressive, I'll say that.
  10. Guess we'll just have to wait for the next update. Seems that spreading the mod status is a common feature of the updates.
  11. I figured there was some sort of update. I really hate updates. They usually try to fix things that were never broken in the first place. For instance, now when you "quote" a long piece of text, only part of it is displayed and there is a "Expand" link that you have to click to display the rest of the text. I wonder what else they have "fixed". P.S. I did software QA at a senior care company for years. Nothing more fun that going through EVERY function and procedure in a piece of software when they have provided an update to correct the spelling in one screen. Oh, we had to do our
  12. I feel the same way about soccer (known as football everywhere outside the US). Those guys run and run and run and run. From one end of the field to the other. Over and over again. I'm amazed at their stamina. I get winded just watching. In any case, used to be a Packers fan and watched every Sunday. When I moved back to Wisconsin, with my old girlfriend from high school who doesn't watch ANY sports, I just lost interest. Instead I park myself in front of the TV and try to find some mindlessly fun entertainment. SciFi is my preference. We have enough streaming services that I can usually
  13. Me too, though it doesn't look like I have any access to the moderator functions. Back when the system was going through that rough patch and had all those problems, I actually did get access to the mod menu items (along with everyone else, I think). In any case, the little shield icon looks kinda cool.
  14. That's not like Matt. He has always been prompt in responding and correcting mistakes. As far as the missing bottle, he probably ran out and back-ordered it. I do hope he is OK. Does someone here know him personally and can try to contact him?
  15. Actually, the tip of the Wolfpack "arrow" on the nosecone should just touch the where the tan part of the nosecone starts. Unfortunately, many of the decal sets for VF-1 don't allow for adjustment of the length of the front part of the fuselage stripe. Don't know if that was the case with the GWH set. In reality, the front section of the stripe, from the number to the tip, is fairly consistent from airframe to airframe. It is the section from the number to the stars and bars that varies in length to accommodate the different sizes of different numbers. I know its a minor issue to some, but I
  16. There have been a couple of threads in the last year about French colors. Links to the official document (in French of course) with information about the colors are in these threads. It gives color info in one of the formats used to describe color. I have no clue on how to use the one they use and I doubt my monitor is even close to being calibrated for accurate display of said colors. It sure would be nice if one of the current paint manufacturers would take this on. Perhaps MRP, Hataka in their lacquer line, or AK in their Real Color line, or even AKAN. Its just odd that no one as put much e
  17. Looks like it was back in July. That does seem like a long time. Maybe someone else has had contact with him. Anyone?
  18. I don't know, but he's probably very busy. Last time he posted he mentioned that he was swamped with orders. Plus, I wouldn't surprised if he took some vacation time too.
  19. They're just very handy when you want to mix a small amount of paint, or pour out a small amount of thinner for brush painting or mix a small amount of epoxy. They're just handy and I find new uses for them all the time. At $11 for 500, they're cheap.
  20. Micro-Mark also sell a powered pen sander. Theirs uses precut self stick sanding shapes. https://www.micromark.com/MicroLux-Micro-Sander
  21. Their search function is still there. Make sure you are the "Marketplace" and will will find the search just to right of the Shapeways logo on the upper left side of the screen. Caveat: I am using FireFox. Different browsers may render the page differently.
  22. Plus, up until a short while ago, he was the only source of MRP paints, aka Mr Paint. Many still use him as a primary supplier even though Sprue Brothers carries them now. Makes him a VERY busy man. I like to image his store as a brick and mortar with all the paints he stocks. Oh what fun I would have and oh the money I would spend .
