  1. The intakes and the ramps are the same but if I remember correctly the engine faces are slightly different?! In the "one and only scale (1:48)" :whistle:/ there is some difference in the available aftermarket intakes. I'm sure there's someone with more knowledge than me....... Regards, Jens
  2. Kinetic announced a F/A-18A! A-model of the Hornet! A..... All the above mentioned Swiss- / Fin- etc. Hornets are C's.... as Jim already stated. A's with "bird slicers" are not as common as C's. Regards, Jens
  3. Hello, there are a few new sets from Kasl Hobby for converting the Tamiya F-16C to a F-16A MLU: http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/se5bjhecnotzk9gtgzvh.html http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/ncskqrph805ivquue1yv.html http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/to9jtsgclxxlz0uftp2c.html http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/ubbxpcs9bm7zwytmbihd.html Regards, Jens
  4. As far as I know the Hasegawa TISEO is quite undersized!? So take care if you use it as a guide! The Airdoc TISEO in 48scale looks far better! Best regards, Jens
  5. Hello, not exactly a thread about fixing anything..... http://www.hypersonicmodels.co.uk/products/in-preparation Regards, Jens
  6. Thanks for the encouragement and your help offer! I followed the conversion "Cliff C" did here a few years back. I think I have all the informations for doing that conversion?! It's actually not that difficult! If I need further informations I feel free to contact you. My "never ending story"-comment was related to the fact that I always start new models, get lost in the "advanced modeller syndrome" and never finish a model.....since 2007.... Thanks again and best regards, Jens
  7. Wow!! That's very inspiring! Like it in every aspect! A few days ago I made the first cuts on my Revell and Hasegawa kits! Well, an other never ending story..... Best regards, Jens
  8. Order is coming!! Just checking what else is "needed" Wusste gar nicht, dass Du deutsch verstehst!? Best regards, Jens
  9. Thanks Jake! That's also the way I think :rolleyes:/ I just ordered a further F-4G..... :D/ Best regards, Jens
  10. Hello gentlemen, found this during my ongoing hunter-killer phase..... Best regards, Jens
  11. No clue what color this seat cushion have had!! But I want these seats! Good to read that they are on approach! Best regards, Jens
  12. Thanks a lot for your infos, Jake! In a German forum a guy stated that he has seen F-4G 69-0250 in the SEA-wraparound scheme on July 30th 1987. Almost a year later, on July 12th 1988, as he has seen 69-0250 again, this time it was painted grey (Hill Grey). He assumes that this plane never was painted in the Euro-One scheme. As far as I understand his posts in the German forum right he very often went to airbases, took pictures (?) and wrote "important" observations and dates in some kind of logbooks. To me this is prove enought that the SEA painted F-4G 69-0250 and the Sharks-mouthed F-1
  13. Thanks for the information! If both jets were in service at the same time but at different locations, I would like to build both, display both together and call it "artistic licence".... Thanks again and best regards, Jens
  14. Hello Scott, great pictures! Thanks for sharing!! I have a question regarding the F-4G, 69-0250 in the SEA-wrap around scheme. The picture is dated July 1987, so it is possible to display this jet together with the shark-mouthed F-16C, 85-1546? Jake Melampy states at his new "USAFE Vipers" decals that F-16C, 85-1546 arrived at Spangdahlem in April 1987. I'm not a 32nd scale modeller, but to see these two jets in the above mentioned paint schemes, even in 1:48, would be fantastic! Thanks in advance and best regards, Jens
  15. Hello Ben, to me the pitot tube on the French Jaguar A and the T.2/T.4 look the same. I also think the GR.1/GR.3 use a slightly longer version (?) of the same pitot tube. I'm using the Master Model pitot tube for my T.2. Best regards, Jens
  16. If you see their "coming soon" in context with history of the Earth - hm, maybe soon…. But I'm 44 years old and I don't know how many years I've left….. Cheers, Jens

    1/48 p-47d

No need for the Aires wheel bay set. In the Quickboost range they offer just the doors: http://www.quickboost.net/Obrazky/48086.jpg The Squadron canopy includes the windscreen: http://www.squadron.com/1-48-Squadron-Canopies-P-47D-Bubble-SQ9503-p/sq9503.htm. It' sized for the Monogram kit..... Regards, Jens
  18. Hello, maybe this is an option for you: http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=SW-48002 You get the tanks and a few useful other items at a cheap price!? Best regards, Jens
  19. This is true for the "real life", but the Hasegawa RF-4B kit comes with the "thick" wing. (There were a few very late RF-4B's with the thick wing) You have to change a couple of things (stabs, inflight refueling equipment, cockpit, cataput clamps and a few things I can't remember.....). There were different threads about this issue in the past with more info redarding the changes you have to do! Try to search the forums? Best regards, Jens O.K. Colin was faster...
  20. Maybe it's the same or a similar equipment the F-4D used for some time during the Vietnam war? http://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:F-4D_497th_TFS_with_BOLT-117s_1971.jpg You can find a lot of F-4D pictures with this equipment/sensors and with plates over the obviously removed sensors. Regards Jens
  21. Hello Jeffrey, as stated by STEN8 the Phantom series by Squadron is highly recommended! A lot of pictures! I also like the Osprey series very much. Not as much pictures as in the Squadron books but some pictures I did not see elsewhere. In the newer books by Osprey the color profiles are very nice and inspiring, so are the reports! And they are not expensive! Best regards, Jens
  22. O.K., I think it's time to realize that I lost the battle with a Academy Su-27 and a Windmark Su-33 conversion before it started  .....and that I lost around € 100..... Cheers, Jens
  23. Hello, if you are just after a VA-86 Corsair with an interesting loadout and not especially aligned to operation Eagle Claw you also can do a "Sidewinders" A-7C from their '72/'73 Vietnam cruise? The external differences from an A-7C to an early A-7E are minimal. And you have plenty of loadout options. Best regards, Jens
  24. Yes, nice picture! I've seen it somewhere before. But this is also one of the best pictures showing a very seldom(?) wing tank! It seems to be a McDonnell 370-gal. wing tank with an unusual location and size of the flange….?! Best regards, Jens
  25. I think Jeffrey named all the parts correctly?! There are the downlocks (to lock the canopy down when closed) and the safety (canopy) uplocks to prevent the canopy from lowering when the hydraulic pressure disappears. In the detail set the safety uplocks are cast in resin and can be attached to the canopy actuators. Excellent attention to detail here! Regards, Jens
