Hello guys. After almost 4 months im calling the first Huey done. El Salvador Air Force UH-1H with all the ASE gear during the last years of the war fought against the communist guerrillas. This is Guardian 214 U.S. Serial 66-16557 delivered to El Salvador on Aug 1988. I used Eduard Big Ed, Werner Wings ASE and Huey upgrades set, markings were all painted exept of the danger arrow on the boom. Painting was done using Model Master acrylics and the fading effect was made mixing the main color in this case Helo Drab with some white, yellow and browns. Chipping was done with Model Master steel and

A real beauty. Rod. -
The last update before painting. I scratch the oil cooler shield since the resin one was too small and the photoetch one too big. Used styrene for the plate and stretch sprue for the mounts. ALQ-144 mount made all from styrene sheet. Drain tubes with stretch sprue also. I did also scratch the door hinges, antennas, wire strike blades and other details. Hope to have it painted by next week, so stay tuned. Thanks. Rod.

I plan to build a lot of 212/Ns, for example some Italian Aeronautica Militare ones, Marines Abandon chutes, USAF missile security birds, hmmm what more? I agree, a 412 would look amazing, i just hope someone could release some resin conversion when the N comes out. Ohhh and i will surely build a couple of Huey IIs also. Rod.

Heres some other update. I worked on the overhead panel, kit comes with no detail so i had to make something to detail that part, its not perfect but way better than how it comes. I also modify the skid steps, kit ones are too bulky, i sanded down and cut to scale, upper one is the modified one, lower one is the original kit part. The chin bubbles were a PITA to install, they left some heavy gaps, i sanded down, filled, polished and cured with future on top. Hope you all enjoy. Rod.

What a beauty, great work. Rod. -
Ok guys, i decided to leave the engine bay open so i must detail the engine as real as possible. Heres how it turned out. I added some wiring from different calibers, stretch sprue, styrene sheets, etc. Engine support rods were made with sprue cause the kit ones are just out of scale. Hope you all enjoy. Rod.

Awesome, cant wait to see it all done. Rod. -
Well, since medevac birds dont carry any armament, the crew usually protects themselves with personal gear such as 9mm pistols and M4 carbines. The carbines are usually located in the back of the pilot seats, and in the lower area of the crew chief window. I remember someone posted a photo but cand find it. Rod.
