  1. Another part of my Tiger Meet and F-16 projects. New Revell F-16s are superb kits. A own two more of them (they will become Polish F-16C and D). Kit is OOB with QuickBoost seat. The only con of Revell is yellow tinted canopy. I decided to make it brown by adding Tamiya Smoke layer. I think I overdosed it, but OK, let it be. Strike Eagle Decals sit perfectly, but they do not capture the look of real tiger stripes. They should look softer and fade to black. I sprayed a little black on some edges to blend them to background. Now, let me introduce Darth Falcon (a friend of mine called him this
  2. Another Tiger coming soon...
  3. And here is the result: A couple of weeks later I finished another F-16 (Italeri) and spared a drop tank, so I painted it yellow/black and put to my Tiger: And here is a happy end:
  4. The Hobbycraft F-16 is a poor copy of Italeri Fighting Falcon. It has way softer details and the jet nozzle has no details at all (simply a smooth conical pipe). The kit has been repacked by Smer (in Czech Republic), AeroPlast, Intech and MasterCraft (in Poland) in some variants. All these kits are bad, ugly and not recommended at all. I bought my MasterCraft kit despite of its issues, because it was offered in Polish Block 52+ variant. Of course, it has no parts specific for PolAF version, but it has decals which I planned to use with Revell kit (finally I will not use them as I have got bet

  6. Yes. You can see shadows on upper side.
  7. ...and here is the family photo repeated today:
  8. I simply changed background on upside-down photos. My models don't fly. ;-)
  9. Delta wing, lenghtened fuselage, cockpit and fin painted at the bottom, USAF stars and bars painted on six positions (including two upside-down), partially submerged AMRAAMs... Here is F-16XL-2 (F-16F) in Heatley-Ferris camouflage, 1983. The base for this project was Monogram F-16XL kit. It demanded many corrections, listed here. Bottom part of fuselage was sliced, main UC bay moved forward, air intake and front UC bay moved aft. Thin cutout was made on upper part of fuselage to create 3-deg upward cant. Twin cockpit taken from Italeri F-16C/D kit, engine nozzle, main wheels and drop tanks fr
  10. Thanks! I've used Gunze Sangyo MrColors: C313 - Yellow FS 33531 C310 - Brown FS 30219 C368 - Sky (from RAF set 2) C308 - Grey FS 36375 (undersurfaces) C306 - Grey FS 36270 (radome, side walls, wingtip Sidewinder rails)
  11. Don't forget to add white background under wing national insignia. HDL white is a bit too transparent. Prepare strong decals solvent (Microscale Sol or Agama Hypersol) to help decals sit in panel lines. Work carefully, because HDL decals (especially walkway lines) like to tear to pieces. Here is my Barak made of Italeri kit with Revell intake, Monogram (F-16XL) canopy and HDL decals:
  12. A few months ago I made my "Zhabak" ("Frog" in Czech) of KP kit, using MPD decals. Although your model looks nice, I see some errors in it: - camouflage mottling should be "heavier"; - Frog on tail is too big; - Czech markings ("tricolors") are twisted on wings. The blue segment is always in front, and the red one point toward fuselage. - There also should be small "tricolors" on tail: blue to the front, red bottom. - I can't see a number under cockpit... There should be "1013" of white outline and ejection seat warning triangle. (Click the photos to see more)

  14. Sorry, in Poland there is no insignia on top. Your colors are unusual too... This doesn't look like Polish aircraft.
  15. Here is my attempt to utilize Top Gun soundtrack: http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=ec8S_JvmLFY
  16. These are my old pictures. TS-11 Iskra trainer on Tiger Meet 1996: F/A-18s delivered to Polish Air Force in 1996: Eight low-viz Gripens in 1997:
  17. National insignia are too big. I don't recommend this set because of many errors in colors, size of elements and lack of some items. Take a look at my F-16A: Yellow "31" was too transparent and was overpainted. Grey shadow under it was too light. The "40" emblem was too light and too small (I left it as is). Tiger head on chute box, "FA-94" and Belgian flag on top of the fin were not on decal sheet and I painted them myself. Polish part of the sheet is nothing but imagination.
