  3. Hi everyone, this is my first finished submission to ARC. Any comments would be great. Lovely kit to build, only minimal filling. Finished in (Tamiya) RAF Ocean Grey and Sky. Weathered with Tamiya smoke. The cockpit has come in for some criticism as being bare. I think it is adequate bearing in mind that it cannot be seen! The HUD isnt great. Enjoy
  4. This is my first input from my thread. Trumpeter 1/72 Sea Fury Fb.11 The kit is out of the box except for the inclusing of masking tape seat belts. The kit decals were nice enough to use, but the stripes were the wrong size and shape so I bit the bullet and sprayed them on. I used Tamiya AS-10 RAF Ocean Grey for a weather sea grey and Tamiya sky. The Sea Fury was weathered using thinned tamiya smoke and odd paint chips were added. Any comments are welcomed.
  5. Well a week has passed since I posted my progress thread. Progress wise, I have finished the Sea Fury no undercarriage hiccups! I will also post more images in the finished thread. The Scimitar is slowly making progress. This picture shows that pylons are on (super glue issues were apparent - my own lack of skill and dislike for the stuff really). I have started the underside colour, which is skull white by citadel, it gives a nice base once thinned. I have decided to pose this model as in flight so I intend to use some clear rod and I will be adding a pilot and the wheels will be
  6. Hello all land lubbers, I am new to the model forum business although i have been following ARC for about a year. I have recently got back heavily into modelling. I have been modelling on and off for 15 years and I am now 23. I have a love of all FAA aircraft which stems from my father who was in the FAA when the good planes (Phantoms, Buccs and Vixens) were around! I have recently been building mostly aircraft (FAA of course!) but do foray into military models as when I was off work I found that I had a knack for tank weathering and they are relatively simple to build. On to the job at
  7. thanks col, I will set up a build section with pictures tomorrow (sat). The scimitar is the one i am looking forward to also. It is my first resin kit. I look forward to comments/critiques as it will only aid me further!
  8. Ahoy there, I am new to this forum stuff in modelling despite being of 'that generation'! I love fleet air arm aircraft and am always going to be building something related. Been modelling since my dad got me into it when I was 8, I am 23 and now trying all sorts of techniques. I started my christmas presents (FAA of course ) and thought this may be the place to put them. A couple were started last week so am i eleigible. Pictures to follow: - Are the following aircraft OK to submit? FAA Project christmas: - 1/72 CMR Supermarine Scimitar 1/72 Trumpeter Sea Fury Fb.11 Carmichael 1/48
