  2. Ray Yes i have the Hobby boss kit and thanks to doupnik i will have a Revell kit to either steel parts from or maybe use it for the armed unit then turning the hobby boss unit into a static display type bird. i long term goal is to have a uh-1 and a hh-60 (commemorative) with the sea-wolves decals sitting side by side. i do want to say thanks for all your help, i'm really glad i found this forum. John
  3. I’m looking for some weapons pylons for my uh-1 that I’m making into a sea-wolf. The model I purchased doesn’t have the weapons pylons or any weapons so if you one has a location to purchase the pylons that would be great. I’m getting ready to get the cobra company UH-1C upgrade with mini gun and new tail and have already purchased the 7 shot rocket system. thanks John
  4. Thanks for the info, i bought the army cast parts and ordered the eduard exterior set. i hope i can pull it off using the Italeri unit because the wife would kill me for spending more money. I have to order the CC parts and the decals then i'm going to give it a start if things ever slow down. John
  5. I have a 1/48 HH-60H and now have been inspired to do the sea wolf scheme. i found the UMM-USA web site and looking at getting the army cast parts form them to do the one side with the engine exposed and the HH-60h conversion and external sensor from cobra company. Has anyone had any issues with these parts or any pointers, thoughts? Thanks John

  8. Does anyone know of a model builders group in the Fort Wayne Indiana area. I looked on the IPMS sight and didnt find anything. Any help our ideas would be great.
  9. Those are some very cool pic's. Now if we can talk someone into making a uh-1y and ah-1z in 1/48 i would be like a little kid in a candy shop. Good job and keep the photos coming. John
  10. I'm trying to rap up a 1/72 P-38 that I have been working on forever. My question is what color do you paint the wheel wells for the natural metal exterior. This is the first model I've tried to detail out and it’s been a long process so I want to finish it right. Also I need a couple of pointers for the panel lines. I painted the unit gloss black before I painted it alcad aluminum; I did something wrong because the lines didn’t pop like they do in the instructions. Suggestions? Thanks John
  11. I would like to see an UH-1N and a AH-1Z in 1/48 thats my 2 cents John

    Painting tips

Does anyone have any pointers using the alclad paints? I bought the dull aluminum to paint a p-38 body then was planning on painting a flap or panel line in the aluminum to look like they've been repaired. So I’m looking for pointers, I’ve never used this type of paint and have a feeling reading other posting it might be a pain in the butt. Any ideas? Thanks for the help John
  14. Bruce What unit were you with?
