  1. The next person that insults another ARC member (in any language) will find themselves suspended or be permanently banned. You have been all warned.
  2. "Righto chaps, gather round!" Managed to finish my Masterbox 1/72 WW1 Mk.1 "male" heavy tank. I added all the groundwork to the base and blended in the standing figures. I was concerned about the bloke on the sponson's "sit" so did some self testing on a couch arm to see if indeed, there was a bit of "open air" at the rear between posterior and surface being sat on, especially with the lean to his left. Indeed there is! Here are three iPhone pics to show the end result. and a bit of editing and aging...
  3. I grew up reading Commando and War Picture Library comics. Used to buy them every week with my pocket money.
  4. After completing the Masterbox Mk.1 "female" build a month or so ago, I made a start on the Mk.1 "male". As per usual the kit parts are easy to work with though needed a little more clean up than the Mk.1 "female" version. The plastic is brittle and parts need careful removal from sprues. I was prepared for parts that had broken building the "female" version and this again occurred, even after I took more care. There is a little distortion of the vinyl tracks which appears to be slight mis-mould. Once painted however, it is not as noticeable. I chose to use Vallejo English Uniform as recom
  5. Vale Phil Hughes. Please do not forget Sean Abbott, he needs everyone's support currently.
  6. Hi mate A very old call sign when we played F-19 Stealth Fighter in the office waaaay back in the late 80's :) I tend to build more 1/72 armour these days, but still build 1/72 aircraft from time to time.
  7. G'day Rod, good to see another fellow Aussie on ARC. One of these days I will make the trip and see Tassie.
  8. Gentlemen I refer you all to the rules of the road which some of you seem to forget on a regular basis. There are forums dedicated to political discussions. ARC is not one of them. Thread closed.
  9. Ahh, ok. I guess that rules me out. Might buy a coffee mug perhaps.
  10. Right behind this. I might be able to take a couple of extra orders or two locally as well.
  11. OK It is apparent that you blokes are simply not able to play nicely with each other, preferring to squabble like school children. Thread closed.
  12. Let 'em have their little air force and the moment one gets to be even considered to be a threat, perhaps that UAE AF F-16 female pilot could blow one out of the sky. No paradise for that little terrorist pilot wanna-be. Shot down and shot down by a woman. Has good symmetry.
  13. Yeah I do, it is called the delete button. Keep it apolitical and non religious peeps. Here is a CNN interview with our esteemed major. I believe she commands an F-16 squadron.
  14. Thanks :) The camera I use is a Canon SX50 HS. No flash as the light was quite good.
  15. I was there registering competition models :) WASMEx 2014 gallery
  16. It is cold, snowy morning with an overcast sky during mid November 1916. The Somme campaign had waxed hot and cold for over four months with horrendous losses on both sides for little apparent gain. Some better images of the Master Box 1/72 Mk.1 Female. These ironically are from my iPhone and not my Canon camera. It is interesting the differences made simply with lighting and camera angle. The last pic is closer to the actual colours of the finished build.
  17. Battle of Coronel was the first engagement. Von Spee's cruisers were far superior to Rear Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock's armoured cruisers which hailed from the 1890's. Admiral Fisher was so incensed he sent two brand spanking new battecruisers to "blow them out of the water" which they did. HMAS Sydney took care of SMS Emden not long after. The RAN's first naval victory.
  18. Slow and steady progress has been made on Masterbox's 1/72 Mk.1. Female WW1 tank. The build was pretty trouble free and I did not have the issues with the "rubber band" tracks that were reported on various websites and forums. After being totally confused with the colour scheme(probably of my own making, but aided by the pretty but completely useless painting instructions) I have sourced colours I am comfortable with after reading a fantastic build blog by Federico Colladia. I brush painted all the colours over an airbrushed Modelmaster Acryl base. Four thin coats gave a good result. It to
  19. I will remind everyone of the ARC rules of the road and actively using the seemingly lost social skill of being polite to others. The next time I edit out a post from this thread due to name calling and churlish behaviour I will apply a time out period to those involved.
  20. Imperialist dog navies and their cowardly minions... Kim is gonna come an' sink ya! Well, maybe....Then again, no really....
  21. South Australian Hobbies ...and the best but no formalised shop front with any-person access, so you need to ring first. Craig Chidley's Aeroworks
