  1. I disconnected the top main airframe piece from the lower...checked the intake fit on the lower piece and they fit fine...when the top airframe piece is attached to the lower, they dont line up at all for some reason. TIme to get back to work on fixing the gear bay pieces now, looks like ill have to rob some pieces from other Has cat to replace the ones I butchered in a frantic attempt to get everything to fit, its taking 2 kits just to get to one completed model looks liks Tomcatter..Thats a great tip, thanks!
  2. Hi Brian, in hindsight, the intake covers sound like an amazing gift from God. At this point though, after getting all the intake ramps in and painted and all the hours spent on it I'd rather see it through. The gear bay pieces have already been butchered anyway to get the intakes in. My method for getting the intakes in on this model is so far off the beaten path, there's no method to the madness at this point. I'm just doing whatever I can to get the things in...pics coming to in progress once I accomplish this feat, im just worried all the grinding to get them in is going to tarnish the ove
  3. Thank you for the link. I have used it as a reference, I just thought I had the fit issues worked out. Ive been working on it though for a while now and only backing piece C16 for the main gear bay stand between me and some piece of mind. Of course then I'll have to turn my attention to the other intake..
  4. Great, I spent countless hours tinkering the main gear bays to get the intakes to fit, and thought i had it. But when it comes time to glue them in they just do not line up, I forced them down, but when i tried to glue the top airframe piece to the lower one everything went to hell. I spent so long getting the bays to fit and filling gaps then painted and washed. Now i have to go in and perform surgery on half of the pieces just to get the intakes to fit reasonably. Bad pick for my first model in 5 years I guess, but man I thought I had these issues worked out on countless dry fit tests. AHHHH
  5. hello, does anyone have a picture of the front seat control stick put together, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it. Also, I'm using the old release cockpit tub, and need to know where to put down the side console stick in the rear. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Chris
  6. hello, I need some advice on what color pastel chalks to get for weathering. The effect I want to go for on my f-14 is for some of the panels on the topside mostly to have that light dirty shading effect. I'm trying to shoot for that dirty, brownish tint color i see in my references. Just wondering what color you suggest i pick out.
  7. oh, i didnt think to check blackbox, i guess they have one too, I think ill pick that one up. thanks
  8. Season 3 doesnt start untill October. How I wish it was on now though, I miss my galactica, gonna be a long wait.
  9. hello, does anyone know where i can get this kit at a reasonable price? Thanks, chris
  10. Awesome, loving that paint job. Excellent work!
  11. Hey Paul I current have a Paasche Air Compressor D500 30psi. I want to get one with a pressuerr gauge and moisture trap and one that is less-noisy. My latest airbrush is a badger anthem, which i havn't had a chance to use yet. I've had my best results with Badger although they take a little more care in cleaning than my other Aztek brush. The Aztek compressors look pretty nice, what kind do you use/recommend?
  12. hey guys Im trying to find a good compressor for my airbrush. My last one was OK, it got the job done, but the pressure was controlled by this O-Ring Device and in Mid Session would always come loose and pop off and the thing was too noisy. What's the best one to get that isn't too noisy and allows you to easily control the pressure? Also, how efficient are moisture traps, I live in NJ and it gets Very, humid during the summers. I have a basement that stays relatively cool, is the humidity going to be a big problem in my painting. Thanks a bunch-chris d
  13. I think that looks really good, I havn't done any weathering before, I'm glad to know it can come out so well on the first attempt :(
  14. Is there a sheet in 48th scale to get the stencils from???, I don't think the cam sheet provides them.
